Is there any actual PVP in this game? PvP Player vs Player not Party vs Party

Hi, I have yet to find any actual PVP in this game. Here's my idea on how to fix that. (assuming I'm not overlooking it and there actually isn't any PvP)

Point 1: Every MMO I've ever played has PvP as in Player vs Player except well FFXIV.

Point 2: How is it supposed to last without a Healer? Well, that's simple.
A. A bit of a Damage Nerf for Player vs Player only. Not for Party v Party.
B. Potions - They are nearly useless as is players either sell them, or have stacks of them from what I've seen.
C. What if the timer for next potion use where severely dumbed down for Player vs Player only, however you could only bring like 5 or 10 potions of . . each potion in Ex. (10 hp/10 mana potions, and like 3 slots for Ex 1 food 1 dexterity and one Vitality potion.

D. BAM! We gain an effective PvP system and make one of the most useless items in the game extremely useful.

Point 3: How will we attract players to this new Player vs Player system over Party vs Party?
A. Don't worry friends always want to test themselves against each other. It will be used.

Point 4: Ok, it will be used so how do we keep it active? Well this is simple as well.
A. For casual players who just want to test their strength there should be a fun mode. Where nothing is risked or gained other than the satisfaction of . . beating your opponent.
B. Staking: Players can stake items or gil on the fight, and the winner receives the other players stake. This will keep it insanely active because it's a good . way to make gil all while having fun.

C. During these staked fights players who win could also be granted a sum of points to your liking for the use in the PvP shop just as you would for a Party vs Party fights.

In conclusion, I believe this would be a wondrous update for the game . Sparking a challenge in player all throughout Eorzea. Also, it would make use of these potions that no one uses and there wouldn't be useless retainer/inventory slots being filled by them. If you read all of this I thank you for your time. Also, sorry if there is an actual one vs one pvp and I just overlooked it, or have not been alerted to it. If that is the case please proceed to remove or lock this forum thread. What do you want just 1v1? Just ask for duels then. Most games don't have much of a 1v1 because it's insanely hard to balance competitively, that's why duels don't have rewards in other games. Party v Party can however be balanced, it's why WoW, Rift, LotRO, TSW, GW2, TESO, SWTOR, all had a party based pvp no matter the specific details, and had no duels or no rewards for duels.

That's exactly it, but most of the games I've played have some sort of duel system. TERA, Runescape, Dragon Nest, Aura Kingdom, Remnant Knights. The pvp for those seemed fine to me. Obviously, it would takes a little tuning to be perfect, but so does everything in the game. That's why things get updated every week, and they still have animation delay's which they apparently seem to be neglecting which is almost a game killer for me, but they still need to tune that right. So, basically, it won't be perfect obviously but I'm sure other people want it just as well as I do. So, why wouldn't you have such a thing. Also, the rewards could go towards player vs player items only if it were such an issue, but I assumed you'd just use the currency and items of party vs party in player vs player fights.

i hope anybody sees this cause i cant post new threads, so im thinking about pvp in ffxiv and it sucks, win traders are killing the pvp since its a grind pvp, it gets boring pretty fast, so frontlines is coming in one month, i think sorry all legit pvp players but its for the greater good of the game for pvp, to make the armors they have only like skins, rare ones or make new items so that ppl with high rank gets something amazing but not something that will make pvp unfair, something flashy maybe but not that op gear that owns everybody for the rest of the players, trying to make this more skill based pvp rather than gear pvp, a good idea as well is to make healers heal less in pvp, and make potions have lower cd so that pvp is not about healer, if healer dies its gg, f healer has low gear its gg, man yoshi p use ur head for this, pvp would be more skill based and fun, the diff between the gear of pvp is super huge and thats not acceptable,

ur making pvp queue so long because of that diff, since i cant make a new thread, can some1 make one saying what im saying with their own wors since my english is pretty bad, thanks.

1v1 is for fun. But in no game I have ever played has 1v1 EVER been balanced, and never will be. As it stands now classes are fairly balanced in 4v4 which is pretty damn rare(assuming all equal player skill, all equal ranks, and all equal gear)

And how is 4v4 not pvp.. it's still player vs. player, in parties yes, but it is more pvp than 1v1 possibly ever could be... Most players in most other games don't even consider 1v1/dueling real pvp, since it's usually imbalanced.... Try 1v1ing lets say.. A MRD as a BRD... yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

@Epsitane There are plenty of games with balanced pvp, and ways to balance pvp in this game. Maybe you should diversify the games you play so you can find one with a balanced 1v1 sytem. You may really enjoy it. Also, several people see "not balanced" because they fought a player of a higher caliber than them.

Point 2: How is it not pvp. Ask people what PVP means. They will say Player vs Player all day long, not Players vs Players. Hence it's not PVP in my eyes even though it can still be initialed the same way.

How would BARD vs MDR be balanced. More stuns for bard, and most counters/stuns for Bard. For instance, Bard can stun and run for their DPS, but when the MDR breaks free or counters and manages to land a stun on the BARD he'd be able to deal decent damage. Also, if the MDR lands a successful counter he could gain a speed boost which would help him catch the BARD. With these mechanics it would take skill to master counters and proper times to stun/bind/or even silence.

Also, MRD could also have the moves to hit ranged as well for when they are frozen such as when a tank aggro's a certain enemy. Just make it do damge if you're that worried about it.

Also, why must people be so bashful about it. They should put it in and the people who want it, play it, and if you don't want to play it stick to your Party vs Party system or don't do PVP or P's v P's. Why must you try to make a big deal out of other people wanting an aspect in the game that would further their enjoyment of the game.
