Bard Bow sphere scroll

Piety and spell speed on a bard bow ???

Ok i can understand piety if a bard wants to boost his mana pool...

but spell speed and no dexterity option...

Your DEX and VIT go up automatically, just like everyone else and their primary stats.

You can't add more of your primary stat (Dexterity) or Vitality on the Novus weapons; those stats are fixed and unchangeable. (And for good reason, too, because the primary stat is by far the best choice for basically every class.)

I do not understand fully how the sphere scroll works, as I have not been able to grind out the mytho to obtain one yet, but I thought you could choose what materia to affix to the sphere scroll, or does the scroll come default stats that you have to fit the proper materia in order to get the stats?
And if spell speed and piety ARE the determined stats, then...what? Why not crit? or even determination? But piety and spell speed?
I am even more confused.

It's only the primary stats that are fixed (DEX and VIT in this case I believe).
You can add up to 5 extra stats (chosen from: crit, acc, spell speed, skill speed, parry, determination and piety). You can chose only 2 extra stats if you want to as well.
The only limit is the cap on the stats and that you can't add more than a combined total of 75 distributed over the chosen stats.

A combination of crit, acc and det may be optimal for Artemis Bow... Or crit and det only...
Choose whatever you feel like.

The question is what are the caps for the Novus weapons? Can you add more than 1 Grade IV materia? or just can put one of each Grade?

Most stats have a 44 cap. Determination caps at 31. Piety at 33 for WHM at least, but reports say 23 for BRD.
You start by infusing the scroll with Materia I's. Each Materia I adds +1 for the chosen stat.
I don't know if that changes once you get to start adding Materia II or higher.

im on meld 5 and it needs a tier 2 materia
meld 3 was at 80% and 4 was at 60%

Each scroll simply has every secondary stat in the game on it. You can choose which ones you upgrade with materia, and which you don't bother with. The option is there if you want it, but you choose which stats you upgrade.
