Atma/Animus update from Live Letter, puzzling statement made

So after reviewing the live letter again i came across the following statement which really has me puzzled. I will highlight the parts that im actually kinda worried about.

If we were to make changes now, the effort put in by all the players who've been working hard on their weapons up until now would be wasted. However, in the future, with new players coming in and item levels increasing, it will be difficult to do everything from the beginning, so we're planning to make adjustments at that point in time just like we do with other aspects of the game. With that said, it’s not that we won’t be doing it in the future, it just won't be right away.

In regards to Allagan tomestones of mythology, while we don’t have plans to reduce the cost of the books from the Trials of the Braves, the amount of mythology you can receive from undertaking certain duties will be increased in a fashion similar to previous patches. In short, the amount of tomestones of mythology players can receive will increase to maintain overall game balance, rather than simply reducing the cost of the books. Players can expect to see an increase in the amount of mythology they can earn in patch 2.28 as well as patch 2.3. /end quote

So it might just be me, but what i read from these statements is that they believe that luck = hard work. Now let me start my "rant" off by stating i am not here to QQ about atma drop rates, i understand why they are low. What has me worried is that they believe a system that is 100% based on luck is considered hard work, yet something that is a tangible progressive constant would not be considered hard work.

The breakdown goes as such:
Obtaining Atma weapon: No boost to progress at all
Obtaining Animus weapon: Massive boost to progress (since most likely 50 more myth will be obtained per run of dungeons on final boss)

So why did SE choose to only help out those with existing Atma versus allowing more people to get to the point where they can actually use the extra myth gained to buy books? Already at this point i rarely see any atma farmers on the zones anymore. Even during peak times its usually only 3-4 max, and then im alone the rest of the night. With the next update nothing will change about this fact, more people wont try to get their atma to animus, let alone novus.

When something is buffed/nerfed isnt it usually the first step of progress, which in this case is actually the hardest (RNG trumps Guarenteed progress in "hardness" anyday, so please dont try to argue your point based on this.) If you breakdown the total hours required for each different component, the results will look something like this:

All 12 atma gained: 2-50+ hours. (yes, there are multiple people who have recorded this much time as going into get atma, myself 40+hours for 11)
Animus gained : 27-40 hours (27 for 6 min speedruns of brayflox which are common)

So why does SE reward those with extreme luck in most cases while ignoring completely those that didnt sacrifice enough lalas to the RNG gods? The thought and complete disregard of common sense baffles me.

What I'm taking from this statement is that they will be increasing myths received in order for new players to catch up faster, not necessarily to address the atma/animus grind. Being able to acquire the books is just a side effect.

1. thats exactly the point, they are directly affecting the ability to gain the books by increasing myth drop rates. They play it off as a "side effect" but it directly corresponds with the acquiring of the books. more myths = quicker to obtain. So the later half is easier to obtain but still doesnt mean more people will be getting to that point anytime soon. most have just disregarded the quest due to the extreme drop rates, and some have quit the game altogether. It really is in the games best interest to at least attempt to make it a tad bit easier, even a 5% drop rate instead of the 1% would potentially help.

2. This does address that later half of the atma/animus grind, but completely ignores the first step towards getting to use those myths on books. Lots of people dont have off classes to gear up so this myth actually gets wasted on those people.

Update: Just completed my atma book, but my argument still stands or my comrades who have yet to complete it after 50+ hours.

The only buff they applied was to CT and some roulettes. If anything, it will deter players away from brayflox. Min/maxers will continue to brayflox their heart out, while those more casual about it will do the roulettes with buffed bonuses. Seems to me their just adding bonuses to go into content most don't want to do(CT, low level roulette as a 50) in order to carry newer players.

It's not a buff, it's another bandaid to entice people to run all the content all the time, no matter how bored people are with it or how old it is. I really don't like the direction this game has been going the last few patches. It feels extremely lazy.

IMO and in the opinion of every player I have talked to today, which isn't many. Adding a mere 90 myth to be obtained by doing ALL of the daily roulette is not increasing myth at all. players who prefer to do dungeons still got screwed, seriously you can't add 15 myth to the end a run to make the full run worth it? many of us don't do the low level roulette, the old reward wasn't worth the time. now the new reward CAN be(can also not be). but really I mean that one got +40 the other got +20 and +30. This is just a huge slap in the face to players and a lie. They added the ability to obtain an extra 90myth a day if you do all the roulette, they didn't not increase the amount of myth obtainable to the average player, they increased myth obtainable to duty roulette players. they took 1 run off a day(I don't count low lvl because a 50min run completely voids the bonus). so they saved players 6-15min this is not an increase in myth at all. Many players didn't even bother with the delay roulette anymore because they just aren't worth it time wise. All they did was make the roulettes worth the time.

after I can't even count how many hours and literally not even a single atma drop, not even my first, I've said F-it with this atma relic and 1% drop rate crap.
