I occasionally play DPS roles for fun like a monk or black mage. Of course, I'm terrible with rotations or what not. But maybe it's not me. Maybe it's just in the nature of the role! So I was, like, wondering and stuff and junk. Are you able to effectively maintain your DPS rotation or whatever during more intense fights or is it, like, expected that you'll totally lose that greased lightning buff or couldn't get that flare off or whatever?

The only times you should lose GL3 in long fights is if some mechanic forces you to. Such as being trapped in a conflag, getting devoured to rid honey or getting shriek and stuff like that. For flare it's about knowing when you can stand there and cast it and when you should swiftcast it.
