Novus Weapon Glow, New Design?

So happened to stumble across this image:

I'm just wondering, I thought the novus weapons would be getting a totally new look? By the design of the curtana, it looks like our work for novus is nothing but another, bigger glow. If this applies for all novus weapons, I would be extremely disappointed.

I hate contemporary fantasy tropes so much.
Making something look more powerful by making it glow more. It just seems so cheap and tacky.
But I know I'm the minority so I'll just have to live with it.

I agree, glowing weapons seem cheap and tacky, though I feel like it's overused in a lot of MMOs which has caused the idea to be cheapened. Something new and original for an upgrade would be preferable! Or make it so the glow only appears when you first unsheath it so you can actually see the weapon.

A brighter gleam or stronger reflection of light to give it a polished look I wouldn't mind, but there's a point where it just seems overused. With a game with as much linear progression as this, more glow isn't going to look so impressive after the 4th time.
I feel like it's the lazy route to compelling and impactful design. I dunno. Maybe I'm just being pretentious, maybe I'm just sick of it. Either way, I don't care to see it.

wonder how many different glows we'll get until we get tired of it.

maybe the next upgrade after it give us a pink glow? ^^

no, we should get a rainbow.

The next step is for the whole weapon to be nothing but glow. Paladins will be wielding genuine light sabers and Scholars and Summoners will continue to be unable to read a damn thing in their own books.
