You mean jobs? I thought it was 1.18 too lol, maybe they are bundled in the "new sidequests have been added" bit.
They're not coming until 1.20. We'll be getting 1.19, which is the diversification of current class animations first.
1.19 is transportation, 1.20 is jobs, among other things.
Jobs has and always will be 1.20+ -- 1.18 was the start of refining the battle system to make it even worthwhile to implement, we didn't even get stat corrections this patch most likely.
I've been playing on classes since version alpha.
