Wait so am I reading this right? (Leve related 1.8 patch.)

"The skill point bonus for defeating levequest targets has been abolished."

So am I getting this right. SE is making same mistake they made when they introduced side quest an is making it so we don't get skill ups from defeating enemies during leve?
If thats the case I can only think why does SE seemingly do something good like add skill ups as a reward for completion then do something stupid by taking skill ups away from defeating mobs. Unless the skill up rewards are huge, i'd rather get my skill ups from mobs I'm killing during the leve not as the final reward.

Any insight/clarification on this would be much appreciated.

You will still get skillups from defeating mobs. You just will no longer get inflated SP numbers, they will be the same as killing mobs outside leves. The bonus SP will come from completing the leve.

Exactly, they are doing this because they don't want people failing leves and saving them to redo them. Now players will receive the big bonus for completing the leves to stop the failing method.

Just link 7 people & complete the leve if you want more Experience Points (new term, don't know why they're still saying "skill points" officially when they said it is now EXP).

Cool. I feel a lot better bout this now lol. Just still little confused on what the "Bonus" skill up they are saying abolished really is. I can only think of it being that it is possibly the boost in Skill ups you get from having Guardian Aspect on.

yeah now we just have to finish leves faster to get more SP bonus

Yes. Just wanted to emphasize that the cap for links is now SEVEN instead of THREE. No more of that silliness of deciding who is going to link for this run of Dunesfolk for Dinner, or who has 'double dunes' or 'double cracked' due to them being available at the counter.

I really hope it is balanced well enough that there is some reason to do four and five stars instead of two and three. I would hate if the time bonus outweighs the difficulty bonus.

I don't see this as being a problem for regional leves, but I am worried about local leves. So if we fail three times....we get zero SP for the leve?

So far Skill rewards for Guildleve, an side quest seem real small. Don't feel drive to do either with such low rewards. at rank 20+ getting rewarded 200skill points for a quest is damn near pointless for the time it takes. (time it takes depending on quest of course.
