Best Rotation for Unchained + Berserk

Good Morning

I've been going over this in my head about my Warrior, trying to find the optimal rotation for burst damage when using Unchained + Berserk where I am trying to add as much damage as I can in that 20 second period that both will be active. My current rotation is

BB> HS> Unchained [0]> Berserk [1]> Maim [2]> SP [3]> HS> M [4]> SE [5]> IB [0]> Infuriate [5]> IB [0]> Fracture

I'm curious though if I should change this rotation to get more potency,I'm also debating if I should have Fracture at the end or before the second Inner Beast as often Unchained will drop right before Fracture in my above rotation.

For example, I'm thinking of changing it to.

BB> HS> Unchained [0]> Berserk [1]> Maim [2]> SE [3]> HS> SS [4]> BB [5]> IB [0]> Fracture> Infuriate [5]> IB [0]

I'm just curious what Thoughts other warriors have, and what combination of abilities they do while in this phase to better optimize my Warrior.

For burst damage, considering that I am able to time everything properly;

HS > M > Bloodbath > SE > Unchained > HS > Berserk > SS > Internal Release > BB > SE [combo] > BB [combo] > Fracture [Berserk timer allowing] (using any defensive CDs during open spots between GCDs if necessary)

During this time I'll normally ignore Wrath stacks to ensure that SE debuff is kept up and both fully buffed BBs land.

Assuming Wrath and Storms Eye are active at the start of the Combo

Current Combo (that I use) is a total of 1750 + 15 (dot)

Alternative combo I'm thinking of switching to is a total potency of 1790 + 20 (dot), but there is no possible way to have Storms Path up for the reduced damage through the entire combo, even if your lead in was SE (combo) > SP (Combo), then start the burst. Though that would probably be best and keep that damage reduction up as much as possible.

Skull, your combo certainly would be only 1650 potency, certainly more enmity, but less damage since the second BB should not have unchained active when it goes off (due to staggering Unchained and Berserk). I am not counting the Fracture in the potency as each Warrior Combo is 7.5 seconds, two combos + 2 abilities is 20 seconds, berserk is over, though I've noticed certain instances where I'm able to hit an extra move at the end of my berserk combo as well, I'm not sure how I'm able to do that. In most case I just put in a heavy swing if I have that chance. I do not personally use Internal Release on my Warrior so that is not in my rotation.

Also from all the time on bard, one thing to note is that two off GCD abilities can be used between GCD abilities, as such there is no reason to space out Unchained and Berserk by that time limit, it also wastes Wrath stacks.

You're wasting 5 seconds of your Unchained bonus because you're using IB while it's up. IB doesn't benefit from Unchained so you shouldn't be using it while Unchained is active. It's also for this reason why you should stagger Unchained and Berserk rather than using them right on top of each other.

This the optimal damage set up. Fracture isn't really worth it since it would be displacing either an IB (which is the same potency but instant and has other benefits) or a BB (which is 20 less potency, but it's up front); remember: we're talking burst damage and DoTs aren't burst (especially when they're over the course of 30 secs). Fracture's displacement is the main reason why I recommend never using it. Unless you've got a metric crapton of spell speed, using it is going to cause you to lose Maim/SE for one or more GCDs, which is a larger DPS loss than what you'd be gaining out of Fracture.

The optimal rotation is:

SE>HS(Unchained)>SS(Berserk)>BB(Brutal Swing)>HS(Internal Release)>Maim>SE>HS>SS>BB>Inner Beast(Infuriate)>Inner Beast

The last Inner Beast is a "possible"; if you've got enough speed/get lucky, you can sneak in the second Inner Beast before you get Pacified (you can actually do it without any speed if you time your Berserk usage *perfectly* so that it's activated at the last possible moment).

With that rotation, everything gets the benefit of both Maim and SE, everything (except the starting SE and HS) ignores the Defiance damage penalty (which actually gives you, effectively, 22.5 seconds of Unchained), everything (except the starting SE, HS, and SS; the starting HS and SS are the 2 lowest damage attacks so this is actually for the best) benefits from Berserk, and IR affects the most powerful attacks it can (the 2 t3 combo attacks with the most Wrath stacks and the Inner Beasts).

Aha! You're right, I goofed my rotation. I did mean to push back Unchained to after HS, I'm not use to writing it out. It's curious you mention squeezing in two abilities between GCDs though, I've never been able to do it successfully without clipping my GCD abilities (currently have a GCD of 2.4, 2.1 experiments that have never been fixed). I see that I may have to swap that last Fracture with an Inner Beast though; I monitor Berserk's timer rather than Unchained's, so I'll keep an eye on that.

Where's your Str potion?

I use this one and i like it a bit

hs->bloodbath->Maim->unchained->SE->HS->berserk->SS->BB->Internal release and vengeance->HS->maim->SE->fracture->IB->IB

With this rotation unchained ends right after fracture and before two IB, so your aren't wasting it, you can also use second wind after fracture and you will probaly crit is since it's affected by wrath stacks and internal release, in this way you can maximize autohealing and if you are a bit lucky(crit on second wind and both ibs) you can heal yourself for over 3k hp in 5 seconds.
I sometimes ask myself what the prepatch war would be with this combo, it's like 7k or so of autohealing, fuck healers
