Weird system msg

So I was atma farming today in northern shroud doing The Which Binds Us after the fate was over I got my Gil and GC seal reward, had my level unsynced and then got this message "Unable to obtain item. You are too far above the recommended level for this FATE." . I was wondering if anyone knew what it meant because I wasn't killing any golems as the fate ended and I already turned in all my cores so I'm wondering what I didn't get. I've never seen this message before so i can only guess it's the Atma of the Archer I didn't get.

Has anyone seen this before or know what I didn't get? I submitted a ticket seeing if it was indeed an Atma i didn't get for some reason, but I'd like to see if anyone else has come across this since no one in my FC has

Did you leave the FATE early? If you walk out of range of the FATE before it's completed, you will automatically be un-synced. If the FATE completes while you are un-synced, you won't get any item drops from it.

Yes, this has happened to me before. I was doing the exact same fate, I had tagged a mob, then went and un-synced after I had finished enough to get gold. And after the person had killed the mob I tagged, it had told me "Unable to Obtain item. You are too far above the recommended level for this FATE." So, my guess is probably same thing happened to you, you might have accidentally tagged a mob enough to get the item to drop off it, but since you're un-synced you can't obtain it.

I was standing right next to the guy not fighting anything so i wasn't tagging anything and i stayed synced until i got my reward and the system unsynced me

Were you in a party? In a party you don't even have to touch a monster to receive a random item drop.

Nope, i was by myself out of combat standing standing next to the NPC waiting for the fate to end after I turned in all of my cores

You get the message regardless of actual participation. I've had it pop up a couple times while harvesting a gathering node that so happened to be in range of a fate that had you deliver drops to an NPC.
