On the topic of Lightning Strikes.

Hey. GMs/Devs/Community Managers, whoever you are, this is for you. The Lightning Strikes Event brought a lot of joy to Final Fantasy XIV players, both old and new.

It all comes down to this, really. Do you really want to make a lot of your new PS4 players smile? Do you want to run a super fun event, for a third time, to let your new players, and some old who didn't have a chance, have a shot at obtaining this content?

To thin the divide between these 'Elitist' (I use the term loosely, and if it offends you, I apologize.) players, and those players who never had a chance in the first place?

It's not just about 'hair', it's not just about 'Lightning or Snow's equipment', it's about the community coming together, and having fun during a wildly amazing Final Fantasy crossover event.

It's about the community looking up to the GMs/Devs/Community Managers and saying "Thank you so much!"

The game is amazing, the content is nearly limitless, and you've done an amazing job so far.

I only ask that you stop stonewalling new AND old players who didn't have a shot at it yet, and see what can be done.

I would love to argue that (FFXIII wasn't exactly well accepted by the fanbase) but I'll focus on your point instead :p

They simply... cannot do that. These events were a commercial advertisement. Nothing more, nothing less. Now that lightning returns is out, repeating that event would destroy its purpose, and wreak even more the lore of Eorzea. These events made absolutely no sense back then, and it would be even worse now...

Though, it it's only what bothers you, they could make the gear available by some sort or salvager somewhere.

People just want the hair from the Lightning event and probably the outfits...mostly Light's hair.
I don't think a lot give 2 craps about the event itself lol.
People will tend to miss things. It sucks but man, we need to move on.
I love FF13 and all but enough.
enough...I didn't bother with the event because it was a FATE mess
Let's do other FF events or something. I wish they did something for FFX.

FFXV maybe :P. They might release hair styles from the previous FFs too, they already have the Warrior of Lights' armour in the game.

I just want access to the clothes somehow. I don't care if they decide to never run the event again.

In a recent thread just like this one, Camate responded saying that they had no plans to bring back the event nor make the hairstyles available again. That said, I believe that all past event equipment is now available via the Calamity Salvager NPCs.

EDIT: I was wrong. "Only items a player has previously obtained from the respective quests will be available" (taken directly from patch 2.2 notes). Also, I found the thread and this is what Camate said:

Looks like you're out of luck on this one, unfortunately.

I don't see why people care so much if this particular event is ever brought back or not.

There are going to be new events coming out all the time.

This is like the one event that would be kind of inappropriate to bring back, since it was basically a commercial for a game that has already come out.

I'm fine with just letting people just be handed out all the relevant items if they want, or if they could go view all the cut scenes and such. But bringing back all the NPCs and events and such for a *third* time (yes it was actually brought back once already for I believe a release of the game on a different platform) is a bit much. The event itself wasn't really that exciting... and there will be new events coming soon that will actually be relevant that if lightning's event came back, would actually interfere with (and prevent a new event from happening).

I can understand the "competitionist" in people wanting to do *everything* there is possible to have ever done in ffxiv:arr, but I'd gladly give you all my lightning event items and experiences just so that this event won't take the place of a fresh new one they could put out instead.... lol

^ this ^ and again ^ this ^ I just fail to see why there's a buttload of threads/posts about people wanting this particular event back again. Seasonal events are seasonal; special crossovers are special; promotions are promotions. End of story. It happened twice, it's run out its course and it's not relevant anymore. Sorry for people who weren't around, but if everything always got released after a few weeks/months, there'd be no point in exclusive content.

Not platform, but region, actually - first the JPN release, then the NA/EU release.
