FFXIV Steam Version to a friend

Hello everyone, here I'm again, to ask more things about the game. :p.

I will get the Steam version for me and a friend, now my question is, if I gift my friend with the Steam Version, he will be able to register a new account and activate after installing the game on Steam? I already have one, but I still have to activate it again, I will be able to activate again using Steam?

If I get a Code from Steam/SE, where I will recive, on mail or client?

Yeah. The game installs and you click "CD Key" from the right column in your Steam game Library when it's selected. You take that CD Key to the Mog station and make the account from there.
