In Game Chat (Why is there no option for this yet! It is kind of archaic not to have)
I love playing this game on my PS4. My first mmorpg experience was FFXI on the PS2, which I promptly upgraded to 360 when it became available. I loved that I could party chat with fellow 360 players. 10 years later I feel that many standards have been set for MMORPGS and one of them is that players must have a party chat option to run end game dungeons. When I say must this is obviously not 100% true but the ability to communicate is key to running dungeons smoothly and for accurately and quickly communicating strategies to new players etc. Why then is such a simple function not implemented in the game. If players could invite each-other to in game chat it would make end game much easier and enjoyable for all. Of course, there will be trolls but o-well but that is why a mute option could be used.
The main reason I brought this up is because I want to petition for an in game chat option to be added in a future patch.
Most people want an ingame chat.
Everyone, and I do mean everyone, that I have spoken with (on Excalibur and Behemoth) agrees that an in-game chat option should be placed. There are ps3 and ps4 people being shunned from end game content because they do not have voice chat (TS3, Vent, Mumble).
Other MMOs offer this ability as an option. To keep up to date with what gamers want then the devs of ffxiv should offer in game voice chat as well. We pay monthly fees to play this game and we expect to play a game with options that should be standard within all MMOs that have raiding dungeons.
If you do not want to use the voice chat, that is your choice. If you are a racist that can not stand other languages and accents, well... that's your problem.
I recommend that the voice chat option be available only in 8+ man instances, where it is truly needed.
