Dragoon Jump not landing in same spot: is this a glitch?

So I'm doing the level 35 Dragoon quest for elusive jump. I get to the npc that spawns the enemy and so I wait for the enemy to get into range of jump.

So Jump says that after the jump, I'll return to my original location. Well... Instead of returning to my original position, jump places me next to the enemy, in range of the enemy's aoe (which was activated by my jump)

The skill "Jump" will always return you to your previous spot, the one you used it in.
I think the only time this will not work correctly is if there is a weird height difference or if you managed to lose sight of your starting point. So it's definitely not normal behavior. Other jumps can also glitch out a bit like that. If you have an enemy a bit higher up on a small cliff, so he's out of sight for "Spineshatter dive" (which doesn't return you to your previous spot), but you have line of sight when you're jumping, you can use Spineshatter dive mid-air. However, your character will still get stuck behind the cliff, even though you deal damage.

Obviously "Elusive jump" will not return you to the same spot, you only jump backwards.
