Tanks, what do you wish healers knew about you?

Simple topic. You hear a lot of cross-class complaining from tanks griping about healers and healers bitching about tanks. Sadly, some of the knowledge that one job takes for granted isn't readily apparent to other jobs.

So, under the theory that all misunderstandings arise because somebody just didn't understand, and also that healers tend to frequent the healing forum more than the tanking forum ... tanks (and DPS), tell us what you wish healers knew about your job. This is a topic where people can chip in to better help healers understand how to perform their role by broadening their knowledge of other roles.

I'm a tank and not a DD. There is no need to ever heal me while I'm pulling mobs together. This might result in a wipe if mobs start going after the healer and he keeps running away from me.
Which brings me to my 2nd point. If you ever get hate, run to the tank (not in front of bosses though) so he/she can help you. Running around like a chicken won't help. Stay calm, move close to the tank and keep doing your job.

Every DPS needs to learn this.
Normally Provoke gets the job done, but assume is on CD/more than 1 mobs leaves group...Do u expect tank to chase ur as* down...Turning the rest of mobs toward pt for potential cleave/cone aoe just to chase ur sry as* down?
Is extremely rare for warrior to loose hate, but it should be common sense for DDs to go toward tank not run away lol.

Yes my Mage in hm-hm 1st boss would rather kite 3-5 skeles around, die and blame me for not grabbing them. Just told him bring them right behind the boss so I can overpower, flash, steel cyclone etc rather then kite as far away as possible >.>

Been playing a lot of healer lately to get used to the job, even tho my main is tank, and get a lot of thanks from tanks for my positioning of mobs me/eos take aggro on :)

Oh, I forgot one more.

Fluid Aura...

I don't know about other tanks, but kicking mobs around the place and out of range of my Overpower, CoS or Flash, is really frustrating for me and for MNK/DRG when have to move to position them again.
Especially at the start of a fight, before a tank is able to get hate on all mobs, Fluid Aura sucks.

Since you are White Mage:
(so am I, I'm also Warrior and I've done almost every content of this game as both WHM/WAR, it's easy for me to spot crappy tanks or crappy healers, but I usually keep that to myself)

Stoneskin me if I use Thrill of Battle. You should do this at least twice during the duration of ToB. It even makes things easier for you healer.

Don't Regen or Medica2 me or anyone else before pulls, otherwise you will get aggro.

After I have aggro from mobs, cast a regen on me. If I use Convalescence, make sure you pop a regen while Convalescence is active.

Stoneskin + Regen >>>> Cure/Cure II spam. For the tank and for the healer. Even more important before Deathsentences, Mountain Busters and similar strong attacks.


Use Divine Seal if
(1) my HP is very low and you need to use a Cure2. Pop a regen on me for increased recovery while under Divine Seal.
(2) all party members are getting damaged (Titan Stomps, Leviathan Waves/spumes, Ifrit's nail bursting) before you cast medica/medica2/cure3.

Interesting topic.. I'm a healer myself and it would be nice to know what majority of people have to say.. Even tho, I always kite mobs, like on 2nd fight in brayflox, where there is 1 - 2 goblins running around. I'm a hardcore player so, I love multi tasking.

Honestly half the tanks don't even pick up those goblins. The good ones will, the will have me running in circles kitting them cause when I do bring them to them they ignore them.

I just want to say from a healer to these tanks. I love you & enjoy keeping you meatshields alive :D

Maybe this thread shoulda've been posted on the tank forums?
