Healer Stat Weights & Best In Slot

I am fairly new to the healing roles in the game, my Scholar is level 50, though it's Item Level is only 60 ATM, and I have only really used it to heal for the Duty Roulette: Main Scenario, Low Level, and Guild Hests so far. Also my White Mage is only level 35 at the current time. I was wondering if some people out there would be willing to help me understand what the stat weights for the two healing classes happen to be, and what the best in slot gear is for various stages of progressions.

Specifically I am interested in item levels 70, 80, 90, 95, 100, and 110. I figure knowing the Stat Weights will help me in constructing my own Best in Slot gear lists, but having help in constructing these Best in Slot sets would be of interest to me.

Above all else if you don't know, your weapon's damage rating is a huge factor in your healing efficacy, and in most cases you should pick a weapon with a better Magic Damage rating over any other factors.

Aside from that for SCH specifically:

MND is the most important stat, followed by Crit (Adloquium is insane with very high crit). Spell Speed and Determination both have their benefits and are relatively small performance changes and both have people that argue over which is better. Piety shouldn't concern SCH too much as Aetherflow should be able to sustain your MP in nearly any fight.

For WHM, Weapon damage and MND are the same priority as SCH. For the rest, it's pretty much a wash and down to opinion or playstyle, there are benefits to all the secondary stats.

Spell speed is the absolutely worst stat for SCH. Crit and DET both benefit your pet whereas speed doesn't. Since your pet is basically 1/3rd of your healing, this basically kills any chance of spell speed being useful.

As to PIE, the value of PIE is not in sustaining your MP. It's about increasing the amount of MP you can consume while still being sustainable. For a SCH, this basically translates into replacing Physics with Adloqs and more Adloq is always better.

MND and weapon damage are purely dependent upon ilvl, so the basic priority for SCH is ilvl>crit>(DET/ PIE)>Speed.

At least spellspeed increases your DPS as a SCH... and cleanse speed.

What does piety do for you? lol, so you can not even get close to ooming for longer?

Being .01 seconds faster on my 1.00 second Leeches. Casting 1 more Ruin per cycle every 100 casts. Whoop de flippin' doo.

Even if speed did have an effect on fairy, it would still be the worst stat. Nothing requires you to heal faster. Preheal better.

Piety allows SCH to replace Physicks with Adlos. Or you can throw in some more dps spells during downtime, which you must have, since you aren't near going oom. If you are ending a coil fight with 3k mana, try to find something to do with that mana rather than letting it rot.

As I said before, it lets you replace Physics with Adloqs. The value of PIE is in letting you behave less efficiently while still remaining sustainable. I stack PIE on my SCH behind crit and I barely ever touch Physick because I've got the mp to let me use Adloqs for everything. The only time I actually end up using Physick is when I don't have Lustrate, the target already has Galvanize (and it won't get peeled off by the time Adloq would finish casting), and they won't be topped off by my fairy's Embrace in the next GCD. You can't away with that if you don't have a decent amount of itemization devoted to PIE.

For scholars I would say Mind > Crit > Piety ( More piety = more adloq, more crit = stronger adloq )

For white mages I would say Mind > Determination > Piety ( I personally prefer Mind > Piety > Determination because, when I have to run without a bard, that tiny bit of extra piety really comes in handy )

For gear, you pretty much have to mix and match in order to find out what your comfortable with. Coil drops i90 gear so you don't have to farm all for all of your myth. For i70 gear, just pick up what you can from running Brayflox HM ( it is the faster of the 3 new dungeons ). For your main gear slots I WOULD suggest Crystal Tower (Labyrinth of the Ancients and i80 gear), but 80% of the time I go in there, the are always a few people yelling at others or making the runs unpleasant for everyone. It depends what you want to put up with xD

Back to the OP... SCH has already been discussed a lot, so I'll just mention WHM.

Weapon Dmg (if applicable) > MND > Det > PIE > Speed > Crit ... which is a lot like SCH, except Crit falls down the list. I would consider Det/PIE nearly same, and Speed/Crit nearly same with wider gaps elsewhere.

The reason I dislike Crit so much on WHM is that you're often casting large direct heals. If that heal non-crit would take target to about ~95%, then the crit is wasted and adds to agro for nothing. (That last few % is for regen.) Of course, Crit is useful in clutch situations when your non-crit heal won't get the target near full (ie, they're taking heavy damage). So it's like sometimes you want it and sometimes you don't - unlike all the other stats listed.

As for stat weights, I've seen those mathematically determined for DPS. However, healing is not like DPS in that just healing more faster all the time in a constant stream is not the goal. So I think you'll find stat priority like above is all you'll get, instead of stat weights. Make your own stat weights if you want.

SCH: Crit > Det > Piety > Spell Speed

WHM: Piety > Det = Crit > Spell Speed

I know Crit isn't popular for WHM because "lulz too unreliable! Muh overhealing!", but point for point they have almost the exact same impact on your final crit adjusted healing, which is to say that they have relatively little impact to begin with. For example, raising 100 points of Determination will increase my base average Cure I by about 40 hp. Adding 100 points of crit will increase my crit adjusted healing by... about 40 hp. (Numbers vary by ilvl)

However, a higher crit chance makes it much easier to trivialize huge spike damage, and get tons of extra healing out of Medica I/II and Regen where every tick can also crit. It works just fine if you know how to wield your tools properly. Also, if you're sharing gear between WHM and SCH so you can flex to either role according to group needs, you're probably going to have a lot of crit gear anyway. This is not necessarily a problem (actually your problem will be balancing piety for both while avoiding spell speed).
