Different Mount Skins
So, this suggestion came about when I jokingly suggested that we should totally have an item that's strictly one-time use, account-bound, and that allows you to make any enemy in the game a mount, save some notorious fate monsters (As cool as it would be to have Odin as a mount, it'd be kinda silly.), and dungeon bosses (as much as I'd love Arioch as a mount, he's hyooge.)
After a bit of messing around with the idea, I kind of took it in a different direction - Having some sort of system in place that allows you to change the skins on your mount.
Requirements for this would be:
• Have the base mount
• Having to slay "x" amount of enemies, and obtaining their skins. For example, Toramas.
• After slaying the enemies and obtaining the skins, possibly taking them to an NPC, along with other items to create a glamour prism for mounts.
Thoughts?

All of my yes. I would kill to turn my coeurl into the one in the middle of Brayflox HM, whose name escapes me at the moment.

That would be cool, but how long do you think the production time will be to accomodate animations for every emote for every race on every monster? You have to take into consideration clipping, size adjustments, how different races and genders sit on every single monster, not to mention the server strain from having hundreds of people with modified mounts needing to be processed correctly for you to see.
Yes it's a cool idea, but a lot more work goes into something like this than a simple reskin. Why do you think most of the mounts already are just palette swaps of horses?

Actually, if animations are done the same way as in most games, then textures are placed over rigs that were created to hold them. There are people who single-handedly do these things as a hobby in their favourite games. Skyrim is a good example of such a game.
If people can single-handedly do this, a company like SE DEFINITELY can, with no questions asked.
If we wanna talk server strain, loading one model over another takes as long as it takes the player to receive the files, so that's held by two things. 'server side' vs. 'player side'.
Alternate skins shouldn't be much different in size, either lesser or larger, than the 'skins' that we have right now.
So, the question then is, "Do you have a problem loading in any models, mounts etc. right now?"
If "No." - then should SE implement this correctly, there shouldn't be any change to that question, nor the answer.
