Please add dodge

I would love to be able to use the dodge button to avoid possible kill shots from mobs. I think it would add more depth to combat and it would still be compatible with the current/planned battle system changes. Make it so it's not guaranteed that you'll evade the attack completely. Like a too late jump, the player can suffer full or slightly reduced damage. It's only like playing with distance, like running far away enough to avoid a body splash maneuver from a frog.

Also it would be really nice once PVP is added in the game.

This was a Square Enix game and the controls are similar to how FFXIV is now, so I don't see how it would be hard to implement. Even the UI looks almost the same. The action bar is on the top right with only 10 buttons though. Yoshida did talk about wanting more freedom of movement.

This game is not an action-mmorpg such as TERA or Phantasy Star; its a strategy\turn based\classic mmorpg and i hope it will stays as such. :cool:

You want a skill allowing you to evade the next attack or a button you press with exact timing to evade the attack ? :confused: :confused:

Or maybe a reaction command or qte button ?

Do you want also a button that allows you to attack as the exact same time you press it ? :p

No, watch the youtube video. I want the system we have now with auto attack, auto target, and action bar skills + pressing L1 or R1 allows you to dodge left or right to get you out of the weaponskill range quickly. Do not imagine it to be exactly like Tera, geez. You can do all the turnbased/strategy commands still but with jump/dodge, even with skillchains and solo combos and such. Is that hard to imagine?

technically you do have dodge, your just not in control of it. Its called evasion and you should raise it as high as you can if you want to dodge allot.

This game isn't about action and there is such thing as dodging in this game - just raise your DEX. It increases crit and dodge rate.

Your idea is a good one, but it's best suited for a different kind of game. Final Fantasy XIV is an ORPG, so dodging attacks is based on a stat-based mathematical formula. It would be cool, though, but it's very unlikely that Squeenix will add it, and if they do, there are a lot more important things to add first.

Or you can just say, FFXIV is not that kind of game so it cannot compete with it at all, therefore, it should roll over and die.
