Duty Finder happy fun times!

Everyone has duty finder horror stories.
This isn't those.
These are the times you used the duty finder and had a good time!

Please start all stories with "This one time, in the duty finder.."
Bonus points for duty roulette stories.

This one time, in the duty finder, I joined Garuda story in progress as a bard. 20 minutes left on the clock. I say "Not going well?" The healer dejectedly replies. Someone votes to abandon - rejected. We run it - kill her on the first try (well, my first try). I say "So, what was the problem?" The healer starts cheering uncontrollably. :cool:
The other 2 players never said anything, sadly.

This one time, in the duty finder, doing low level roulette as a warrior I got Titan story with 3 new players. I explained the mechanics - one-shot it. :cool:

This one time, in the duty finder, we entered crystal tower 45 minutes before maintenance. This was on a Sunday night when there was still a weekly lock on loot drops. Everyone was friendly, having a good time, I got my drop, and we finished 3 minutes before maintenance. :D
It was my second ever CT run. :p

This one time, in the duty finder, I joined something in progress through the low level roulette. I really don't remember what it was because before I could type "hello" the other 3 people killed the boss. Quickest roulette ever!

This one time, in the duty finder, the party was 4 female Miqo'te and .. well, what happens in the duty finder stays in the duty finder. :o

And just to get it out of the way..
This one time, in the duty finder, got Ifrit story in the low level roulette .. and everyone has a relic. Easiest full run ever.

This one time in the duty finder, I was doing my duty roulette and I came across AK, no biggie!

Well our tank and MNK were brand spanking new to lvl 50 stuff. Which I'm fine with and don't mind helping new people, but I never got the chance to do it... because the BRD did all the explaining and mentoring with me commenting very minimal if the BRD forgot something. It was the most refreshing pt I've been in, for a very long while. Any time the poor MNK or PLD didn't simply know something because being fresh 50's the BRD would take their time and just walk them through it.

Always being very encouraging and never speeding things up or getting angry, upset, or snippy with both of them, it just really warmed my heart to see there are people out there willing to help others especially when they're new and still learning how a game works. I gladly gave my commendation to the BRD, I even got one in that PT being the SCH XD though I felt the BRD deserved them all :3

This time in duty finder a tank left in Hardmode Brayflox is was no biggie because we had a bard and a blm. I said if the bard can tank I'll heal him. He said fine. We proceeded through the dungeon got to the last boss. We wanted to try to 3 man it and then a PLD shows up and we basically said f it we're going in without the PLD.
After we go in we beat the last boss before the big bomb.
The PLD and I quote " that was the best and easiest Soldiery run I've ever had." He then said thanks and proceeded to say how awesome that was.
I loved that day xD

This one time in duty finder, rolled Copperbell Mines story on my PLD. The party was me, an archer and I think a THM or a ACN (can't quite remember but they were a caster :P) and a CNJ. At this point I was still not very confident in my tanking ability so I let the party know, they said it was cool and both the damage were new anyway. So we get to the final boss, when the healer suddenly quits D: . So I ask if we should wait for a healer, they say yes so I ask my FC for help to maybe speed up the process a bit. Two FC members sign up and end up in different groups when suddenly I realise I never got the notification to replenish ranks and I wasn't the party leader XD. Since the party leader was one of the new damage they didn't know what that ment so dismissed it D: We finally managed to activate the replenish ranks thing but still didn't get a healer. So at this point I get tired and say "Lets do this", cast protect, and head in with the two damage hot on my tail

We start the fight. I open with FF and shield lob to establish fast enmity control and start doing my single target combo rotation. Whenever I get low on health everyone pauses to cast a quick cure on me, including myself. I've marked the boss as a focus to make sure the two new guys didn't go hitting the ads because I wouldn't be able to save them if we didn't kill the boss fast enough. Boss starts hitting the first boulder so I use the oppurtunity to pop Conv and get some extra heals in. The boulder goes down and the boss starts hitting me again. The two DPS figured I wanted to focus boss so helpfully did so. By now we have him on about 40% health. Shits getting intense as my health gets lower and lower and our heals start not being enough. At 5% health, a healer joins in and we're like, huzzah! Then the boss dies and I'm just thinking "Yeeeeeeeeeeeesss!". Best run of story Copperbell Mines ever.

This one time, in duty roulette, I was running heals (whm) for soldiery cap and the group up was pld, 2 mnks and myself in halitali hard. Me and the dps exchange salutations and the tank ignores up til his stone skin is up and runs off. Oooookay. Guy pulls up to second pack and I expect to have a hell of a time for the remainder of the instance. Dps are working down at a reasonable rate, but without some dedicated aoe, it\\'s tough going keeping the tank up. Tank graces us with his text letting dps know they need to pick it up and when this first encounter is finally over just... Abandons. No words, just gone. Mnks ask what now, and I suggest 3-manning as far as we can. Queue find more and we set off punching and aeroing our way to the first boss. It\\'s fun. Mnks are trading aggro with their position bonuses and I\\'m tossing out dots and were all dancing around one another when things get dicey.

We get to the first boss and I say to hell with optimal, lets just go for it. And we one shot the guy. Another tank showed up mid fight and we all chat about how much fun we had and how awesome it was to watch before going on to crush franz the fair and company. Great group, and I got three commends! ^^

This one time in duty roulette, I had just unlocked sch and was doing my 2nd run on it ever. Got into haukke and right after the first room the tank got pissy because he wasn't using flash or holding hate at all(and he was waaaay super geared) and we asked him if he could use flash to gold hate better for us. got vote kicked by the 2 Dps after getting mouthy with them.
Anyways, we waited for a few, chatted happily. No tank after 5 minutes. Said w/e and ran through the dungeon no tank. Got to the boss, decided to wait again. After 3 failed attempts at fc mates to join in progress we decided to just try the boss.

Not only did we destroy the boss with no tank, but to this day, that boss fight with no tank was smother than any haukke run I had done up to that point with a tank. And smother than half the runs I've done after. Lol. It was a good night.

This one time in duty finder, I ran Praetarium. I was so shocked when a dps who was a first timer was allowed to watch his cutscenes. However a tank immediately left the run (probably due to everyone other than healers being fresh 50s aka no real speed run). We ended up with one tank, and later lost 2 dps due to d/c.
The run was smooth, fun and positive despite the loss of three players. At ultima we were joined by two of the tank's friends and we cleared everything.
I was just happy because for once, a praetarium run was very pleasant to all the new people involved (Turns out there were two first timers actually and I suspect the d/c dps were the same).

This one time in the duty finder, I entered an Ifrit EX which I desperately needed practice on as WHM. We had some elitist A-holes in the group, but fortunately for me the other healer was very experienced. She taught me a lot about how to do the raid effectively, and although we didn't finish, I learned a lot from a very nice player. If I could've given out a commendation, it would've been given to that healer.

Just yesterday I did AK through party finder. Actually DC midway, but party didn't even mind.

Then one of ls mates shouting Odin pops, so I have to excuse myself from party and can leave. Rushed to the scene and got my gold rating. Re-enter AK again with join-in-progress, and behold, same party waiting again, this time only Anantaboga remains. We cleared it pretty quick, and to top it all, I even got 1 recommendation even though I'm a black mage. :D
