Let's Just Ask: Is Ishgard Opening?

A few statements have been giving regarding Ishgard in the past: Mainly that it wouldn't open until "after battle changes", because they would be required to experience what Ishgard has to offer.

1.18 will be implementing a host of battle changes, and 1.19 is scheduled to be the release of Chocobos and Airships.

So let's just keep it simple and ask: Does this information mean that 1.18 will be the battle reforms that lead to Ishgard opening?

What information can you give us on that, if so? Can you tell us if it will be the hub of all traffic, or can we fly straight from city to city? Are the docks in the fields for field to field transport only, or is the airship network truly that extensive?

Whenever in-game dialogue mentions Ishgard, I get a tingle down my spine. I would love to have more info on this.

I would be willing to throw in a bet that Ishgard will come in the next major revamp they plan on hitting. Which, I would also bet is more class definition and jobs. So..I think in otherwords, it has a good chance of coming in in 1.21 or 1.22 and be the key to getting jobs.

Wishful thinking at best though >.>

which basically means 2020.

"After the battle changes" is a little relative, don't you think? That could mean in patch 1.18 seeing as they'll be implementing finished battle changes all the way until... anything. Pretty much everything that's not already in the game will be coming "After the battle changes."

It's like when someone says, "Here's a picture of me when I was younger." Every picture of you is of you when you were younger.

If it's not opening now, that would confirm that the airships do not require a Central Dock like in FFXI - which would be surprising to me because what other excuse was there for holding them back other than blatantly saying, "We wanted to slow you down to buy as much time as possible on fixing the game."

I don't know if they'd go on record saying that, even though it really does appear that way.

To be honest I don't care that much about Ishgard and I don't see why anyone else should. The only reason why people care about it is because it's closed off. IMO they need to finish revamping what we have now before they move on to Ishgard.

I don't really care, at this point. I'd prefer it if they fix the rest of the game first before working on new stuff.

Yep.

Battle changes will continue post-1.18.

Stat reforms
Graphical reforms
Major class reforms

Will be included in 1.19.

Some could say it's turning out to be a larger battle system patch than 1.18.

Job system implementation is a part of the battle reform as well, and those are coming post-1.20. So...

New areas will be introduced in 1.19 however.
