mmorpg.com posted new review of FF XiV. Too bad they decided to post it just before 1.18 but then again I doubt this patch would help much. Most things he is complaining about aren't being addressed or it will take 3-4 more patches to fix.

don't care. I'm playing the game and I like it, I could give two shits what some reviewer thinks. Especially before the first major content patch.
Certainly a valid score, but man they're dumb. Right before overhauls, 10 months after the official release... there is no more improper time to review an MMO.
That is the most unfair sort of defamation ever seen for a game. They had 7 months to review it and they do it at 3 days from the patch. Really disgusted..
I've never taken mainstream reviews for MMORPGs seriously. They are usually either written from the perspective of the first 10 levels of the game or based on the reputation of the company that produced it.
the guy is a moron and most of the comments are just as ignorant.
They actually give most game a few months before review. As I said I doubt this patch would actually help with the score. After 1.18 you could say that they should wait for 1.19 then 1.20 etc.
You can't blame them. It's always "the next patch will change the game" in their line of work they run into, and there's a point they set their foot down and review the game for what it is. It's unfortunate the simple basics of the game have taken close to a year to implement.
You guys act like 1.18 will make this a completely different game. It's a fair score and while the reviewer didn't really dive too deep into the game, can you really blame him?
MMORPG is the kind of site that would review a game just before 1.18 to keep it's score low. You really think MMORPG does not get compensation for stuff like this? Well, in FFXIV's instance it isn't as great as a threat as other games. However, sites like these usually only like to keep scores high with companies that give them hand outs :)
