Can I get rich from only DoH?

I'm trying to enjoy botanist... but I can't. x___x I enjoy crafting and I love making HQ stuff. Can I just make gil leveling DoH classes? Is it very profitable without getting my own mats?

Generally yes but as in life you need gil to make gil

I.e I bought dress mats at 150k for 2

I sold the dress at 750k

So it is possible but generally on limited crafts

Yay! Good thing I have about 160k to start me off.

I'm going to give botanist another chance though. Maybe I can level it alongside weaver and cooking (too lazy to remember what it's called lol) and use it to get HQ mats. Maybe that'll make it fun? Especially if I just play botanist in short bursts for mats rather than for hours at a time to grind. Hmm...

Keep in mind that the example Ddmk gave will vary from server to server and even from moment to moment. Playing on the market board by flipping items like that is like playing in the stock market; if you don't do your homework (i.e. studying sales histories of the items you're looking at), you'll end up losing more gil than you gain.

In general, DoH will make more gil than DoL. The best thing you can do is focus on a craft that complements your DoL. In your example, you can use botanist to gather the materials and culinarian to make and sell end-game raid foods. Botany alone can make money but, again, you need to find what sells and change your items up frequently.

On my server food sells really well so leveling bot is a good idea (90% of ingredients are gatherable)

Use leves and company manuals to really boost exp you can reach 50 on bot within a few days

there's lots of things out there on the board that you can make gil on without gathering, I do it all the time (although I gather some things to sell).

that being said to get rich from it takes time when starting out.. you'll have to raise all doh to get really rich and meld at least one to start making the good hq stuff.

you wont start making a lot of gil straight away but in time you can if you stick with it.
