Active window and 90k

Thought I'd ask here, seeing as I have what seems to be a weird problem (in my opinion at least).

I play FFXIV on Windowed mode. If my FFXIV game is not the active window at any point, there is a high chance I will get error 90k. This means that as long as I am playing FFXIV, I cannot surf the net, or watch a video, or even take a moment to set up Teamspeak or something.

This is quite irritating to say the least, and when I posted under Technical Support, it got moved to Separate Support Required.

Would anyone here have an inkling of why this happens, and how I can prevent it?

Well, the first thing to realize is that 90k is just a disconnect. It can really be anything disconnecting you. Anywhere from your computer and the software on it(or bugs with said software) all the way to SE's servers, and everything in between.

I've experienced this once or twice before, it does get rather annoying, but I usually just brush it off and log back in! You are not alone!! :)

If I'm playing the game, it's fine and dandy, I won't disconnect in the middle of Coil progression or something. It's only when I want to take a break, and surf the net for a few, then it decides to 90k.

Sucks that I have 2 monitors, but I can't use the other one at all while playing FF...

I usually log back in too, but it's quite irritating when I am queueing for DF, and my queue is reset because I am surfing the net or watching a video...

I seem to only have this occur when I decide to surf to a flash/video heavy website. Which I assume could be the root cause.

Has happened when I am watching a video on Media Player too...
