Casting on Moving Mobs
I'm having a problem casting spells on moving mobs. Basically, when they move even slightly out of my line of sight, my cast gets interrupted. It happened in the Garuda-egi fight on my SMN where the feathers were flying around in a circle and i died a few times (until i remembered Ruin II was insta-cast). But it also happened in Copperbell Hard on the 1st boss on my BLM. When the bomb comes hurtling along the walkway, i target it and start casting when it's by the last set of 3 blobs. But when it gets about halfway round, my cast fails and the party dies. All i can do is Scathe it.
I'm pretty sure it's something simple like toggling a setting, but i can't find it anywhere. Any help would be much appreciated :)

The out of my line of sight problem in this game for Casters need to be fixed ASAP.
A Caster should be able to cast a spell as long as he learned the spell. That's because, unlike melee with sword or axe, or archers with a bow and arrows, there's no direct interaction with the target and the caster himself via spells. In short, as long as the caster knows how to cast a spell, he should not have trouble casting it on the target within range.

Could make macros for your spells with /facetarget on the first line, or press F as you're casting.

This is not only caster problem, melee have this problem too. This is because this game dont have 180° attack radius but around 60° - 90°, if you add real game delay around 400ms (dont mistake this with ping) then you have to aim infront of running ppl. Auto-face will not work every time if your target is moving fast too close or when just runing straight through you. Only advice to counter this is simple aim manualy infront of targets like in battlefield or in any other fps that dont have hitscan detection :)

Just turn while casting to keep the mob in front of you, right mouse button away.

I noticed this a while back. I start casting on a mob, then it's moving and moves past me....spell cast interrupted, cause I...don't know where it's at...anymore?
It is kinds frustrating and has potential to cut into DPS. I like the remark about Right mouse to turn while you cast. I have tried just using D or A to turn while casting and that interrupts. I'll have to give this new tidbit of info a go.
There is a setting in options that has you automatically face a target when you attack it, I hate it on my PLD. If I'm running past mobs and shield lobbin' I don't need to get auto faced, it messes my long pulls up. Having it turned off allows me to use skills with out directly facing the target and more safely pull larger groups.
Just my 2g

Like ispano said just rotate the camera (right click hold) while your casting and your spell will go off..... *note* this does not work if your using legacy camera control

I'll give it a go tonight, thanks for the advice :)

I aim my character at moving targets with the right mouse button. I'm not sure if locking the camera works with a controller. It's only a challenge when mobs move through my character.

If your on pc, pressing f will make your char face the target, so you can click that while casting.
