When you press the number key corresponding to a spell, a large box containing its description pops up and takes a good portion of the screen.
Has there been consideration of removing this, and only make it pop up when the mouse scrolls over it?
I'm sure an alternative way to view it with a controller can also be implemented (Emote + Confirm).
I agree with you. I know my skills do you don't need to tell me everytime i scroll over it. Having the option to turn that off would be great. /description off
I really hope so. Thus far in my short time with FFXIV this is item número UNO that drives me nuts. Kinda hard to appreciate the onscreen action when a paragraph is superimposed over your character.
I suggested this during the beta phase and I very much still agree. The information these descriptions contain is basic functionality of abilities, something that most people learn right away anyway. Even if I am to check an ability's description, I usually find myself in the ability window anyway.
I agree, I like being able to get a refresher of the skill but I don't want to see it all the time when I am fighting.
Agreed, I actually re-positioned my bar else where on the screen so I can actually see what is going on beside having text come up over the fight.
