As the title suggests, I'd love to be able to remove a single materia from an item rather than having to remove all of them. Having this feature would be great, even if you could only remove the last materia applied. It would also be fine if this last applied piece were destroyed.
There's been several times where I had a piece of gear with every piece of materia applied perfectly, except one that I had second thoughts about later.

Agree, considering the amount of money that is required to penta meld we shouldn't have to remove all of them just to remove one.
It's a pretty obtuse way of going about it.
Part of me thinks this is probably a balance/economy decision.
I agree with this, selectable removal would be nice though.
except for crafting and gathering though penta-melding seems like big waste of time, I get that its needed to a degree for progression but all that time and energy to then just get a nice shiny new piece to replace it sooner or later that doesn't need melding. I would only meld battle gear to just enough to get me through.
