DOH future gear,.?
so after the 2.2 patch I'm sure all us top level crafters have gotten all the new tools and headgear. (which I'm glad we don't have to meld at all.)
It got me thinking about what I would like to see with regards to new gear in the future and how we may obtain it.
So obviously the game already makes mention of a master crafter in Cid, and his costume is even pretty cool too. So I was thinking what if we could obtain that costume.!?
It would be completely max stats on all pieces to what they currently are. (current materia melded max) it could have materia slots so we could re-meld it to even higher stats which would be a requirement for the eventual newer synths. It could be worn across all classes so we only need one set. (like patricians)
The catch is, to obtain this gear you must be lvl 50 on all classes, have AF gear fully melded with the exception of headgear, however you need to have the artisans glasses. you trade this gear for the newer master gear.
Do some crazy quest along the lines of having completed 90-95% of crafting log for all classes. (I would say 100% but some materials aren't even available yet and where they are there in the millions to buy)(also we couldn't complete any new recipes without this gear)
I for one would like to see a cross class set like this as I wouldn't really want to re-meld all classes again regardless of whether I had the gil or not, especially since there's not that much materia available anyway to support hundreds or thousands of crafters trying to re-meld at the same time.
Let me no what you think,
And yes I'm aware we will in all likelihood get new jewellery next or new off-hand which would be cool.

Since current gears are enough for HQing 3-star I just wonder what will be their solution for 2.4 when 4-star recipes are out. If the only i70 crafting/gathering set will be exchange from HQ tokens then crafting/gathering materias will be useless by that time.

agreed about the tokens and the use of materia,
I don't think they will give us only non-materia meldable gear as they would destroy the whole point of materia being in the game except for new starters, but for them it ay be hard to get since everyone else will be beyond needing it so most of the spirit-bonding people will just stop doing it.
so I would imagine any new gear would have materia slots. but as I said I and I'm sure most crafters don't want to re-meld so many sets again.
I think a cross class set that is meldable would be the best solution, however it does leave the question of how to progress crafting over the next few years,
