[request] chat filters for crafting
In the chat log configuration, where we set filters of which message types appear in each tab, please divide out "Own Synthesis Messages" into two different types, perhaps "Own Synthesis Details" and "Own Synthesis Results" so those of us who only want to see the results don't have to have our chat log flooded with tons of extraneous junk.
Just as an example, the simplest sort of crafting, just making intermediate resources like yarn, cloth, leather, lumber, etc, will dump something like the following in our log for each and every item we make (so 99 times this much if we make a stack of it):
You begin synthesizing a spindle of cotton yarn.
You remove the following from your bag:
1 lightning shard
2 cotton bolls
You use Standard Touch -> Success!
-> Quality increases by 106.
-> Durability decreases by 10.
You use Standard Touch -> Success!
-> Quality increases by 106.
-> Durability decreases by 10.
You use Standard Touch -> Success!
-> Quality increases by 106.
-> Durability decreases by 10.
You use Master's Mend -> Success!
-> Durability increases by 30.
You use Basic Touch -> Success!
-> Quality increases by 85.
-> Durability decreases by 10.
You use Basic Touch -> Success!
-> Quality increases by 85.
-> Durability decreases by 10.
You use Basic Touch -> Success!
-> Quality increases by 85.
-> Durability decreases by 10.
You use Careful Synthesis -> Success!
-> Progress increases by 43.
-> Durability decreases by 10.

That's just a single basic resource item, the simplest (and therefore shortest) type of synth that exists. And even that fills 28 lines in the chat box. Anything more complex of course takes a whole lot more. That's ridiculous, when there's only one line out of all that that's actually meaningful, just the last one that says:
You synthesize a spindle of cotton yarn
Nobody wants to look at any of the rest of that in their log. The crafting window itself is where we watch all the details. The only purpose for logging any of the rest of that is if someone has a parser that can analyse it (which is actually rather unlikely, given that other actions like Steady Hand don't show up there, but that's a different topic). Please give us a version designed for people rather than parsers, one that will just display the item resulting from each synthesis and the materia resulting from each conversion.
As it stands now, we either get our chat box flooded any time we're crafting, so we can't follow a conversation with our FC or linkshells, or else we get frustrated enough to turn it off, so we don't get a record of what we've made so far and if we forget to turn it back on again before the next time we convert an item, we'll have no way of finding out what sort of materia it turned into.
