"I Got a Good Materia" Achievement

Has anyone gotten this yet from the new transmutation system? I did a couple transmutes and I didn't get it. I even did a lvl 4 from 5 level 4s. Do you maybe have to get a higher level materia than all 5 that you had? for example, getting a lvl 4 from 5 lvl 3s?

Yup, it's unlocked when you get a higher tier materia than the ones used to generate it.

I don't -think- T5 materia are ingame yet, as there's no entries on any of the datamining sites, so I'd ostensibly consider it impossible to get the achievement using IVs in our current patch. I-IIIs however should be okay.

I got it from trading in five level 1 materias and getting a Craftman's Competence IV. I did this about 150 odd times after the patch yesterday with all my 'junk' materias, so I think it's a pretty rare occurrence. I only got a higher materia than what I traded once. A short ten second cutscene with Mutamix jumping up and down and talking jibberish accompanied it.

Wow, so random haha.

Anyway I personally haven't gotten an upgraded materia yet but I only tried it about 25 times.

Transmuted about 200 times before I finally got this achievement. I could have bought a small house with all the gil I spent buying materia for this achievement :x

Traded 5 level I's and recieved a level II materia, then 4 transmutes later happened again getting a II from 5x I's.
