So EU Datacentre's ? (REAL ONES)

I am curious what the devs position is on this seeing as the game is doing quite well, is there any news on weather we will actually get a local EU datacentre ?

I raise this question because Titan is still a pain in the ass for people with high latency and I think SE owe it to their EU customers to provide them with a decent connection.

VPN are all well and good but we shouldn't be expected to pay for 3rd party software to play a game which we are already paying for.

It's been a while since a thread has been brought up about this issue so a response from a community dev would be appreciated.

Edit:- Any input from players would be appreciated too.

You are curious about it, but we are not SE so we can't answer what's the devs position on if they're gonna exist one day.

I think that is safe to say that we'll never have them. They don't care at all. Most people with huge lag problems have probably already left the game. People with little problems have left too, or just decided to stick here with them. I know people that have left the game because of this, but they will not come back if SE brings new servers, most of those users are already lost. So... Why spend money on that?

BUT...It's just my opinion. I woud like to have them. Once I decide not to renew my suscription that will be one of the things I'll say to myself, "They don't even have real EU servers and I have some latency issues". But for now I just deal with it..... I don't suffer a lot of latency anyway.Anoying, but...

I know the feeling i mean when i played star wars the old republic my latency was generally around 30-50 but in this game around freaking 100 which is just insane.

Currently located in Ireland and England, no latency issues in either case.

I have friends playing in Saudi-Arabia and as far as Autstralia who have no issues with latency affecting their ability to play the game.

If someone with a rocky connection in Australia is able to play on a Canadian data-centre i'd dare say the EU ones aren't really needed that badly.

Hi, I'm a noob and my comment here will be short because I don't really need to explain it so much.

I support this topic and I hope Square Enix will move the european data center to Europe. And I don't care about the possible answers of "They won't do it because it is not easy to move all the whole data center and is not worth of the money, bla bla bla bla bla"....

Note: Wait!... I think I'm a noob but also a genius... I probably realized where is the problem... Maybe... Square Enix also ... Oh, no, I won't say it, I don't want to call them noob too, I'm the only noob here, I don't want it to take offensive because I'm not offending, just saying, respect for everyone.

The problem is usually down to your connection (or at least the connection in your area).

The fault doesn't lie with Square Enix, seeing as many people around the globe have no issues.

There are people in Australia who have no issues with latency.

With our atlantic connection, we have better connections to the NA servers from the EU than most of the North American population does. We're always at around 100m/s, that's about the norm for everyone no matter where you're from. That's good to me, really. There's no need to additional servers in the EU for anything. It's just going to break up friends, and i like playing with americans (sometimes).

This just isn't true, I know people too.. dotted around Europe and the middle east and they have a different story than the one you portray, some people are just lucky and don't experience it for some reason or perhaps don't notice it.

Nobody is forcing you to break up friends though, if you currently play on Behemoth its not an EU server so it wouldn't effect you.

100ms is not normal, most mmos have connections between 40-60ms with local servers.

Personally I'm not having issues of connection. Basically they are probably organizing it well to reduce the effect of the latency so we don't feel it. but latency there surely is because of the big network cables that are extended from USA to London and then from London to rest of europe...

It is just logic... If they call it Europe datacenter, put it in europe... If not rename it, seriously...
