Onion Helm Codes

I am curious, I've read that the codes for the Onion Helm still work. I would LOVE to have one and have seen some selling on eBay, are these legit? Some are just the "game code" and some are bundled with security tokens. I already have a standard account (non-CE), what is the possibility that this code will work for my account if I purchase one?

Assuming the codes are actually legit unused Onion Helm codes, yes they will still work with any ARR account. I had mine sitting around and used it when I started playing 2.0 (having never played 1.0 at all), and it worked just fine.

If you applied the code would existing characters get the helm or only new characters?

If I remember correctly, it is possible (although rare) for your retainer to bring one back from a venture.

Every character on your account should get them, both old and new. ^^

The retainer may bring back a Red Onion Helm, an i52 obsolete helm from 1.0. The normal Onion Helm (which is blue) can only be gotten via the promotional code.
