Can't re-connect after lost connection (character still logged in)

Area and coordinates: Brayflox's Longstop, First boss (pelican)

Steps:
1. upon arriving to first boss i lost connection (error 90k)

2. when trying to get back on i got a lobby server error 2002

3. got back to character selection and got the message i was still logged in and to wait a few minutes for the server to update and try again

4. waited a few minutes tried again and same thing. closed the client re-opened and same thing again

5. around 3pm eastern time a friend of mine told me my character was still showing online in Brayflox.
