It gives such a massive edge already... making it required just sounds stupid in my opinion :/ sorry.
Food should last an hour. 30 mins is like two attempt-ish and it's gone.
Its already required for covering your lacking stats, like accuracy.
After meeting the requirements by gear, however, it provides a further edge.
Hell. HQ Popoto Pancakes provides roughly 450 HP to my lv93 Lalafell Paladin, combine that with a WAR's Defiance and Thrill of Battle, along with an X or Mega Potion of Vitality, and it wouldnt be a stretch to say it reaches the 13 or 14 thousands.
As an Alchemist, I would like potions to have a bigger effect on end game, but truth of the matter is, it already does, just not a long lasting game breaking one we would would think.
It won't boost the game's economy, not in any meaningful way. They will become overpriced and FCs will turn to the one (or few) individual(s) they have that maxed out Culnarian (which they would most likely do anyway) or do it themselves.
Pretty much this. Food prices will only go up for the "best" foods. Raids will either be forced to shell out gil for it, or will turn to one person who has CUL maxed to make everything for them. Chances are, then everyone will level CUL, and then prices crash (either because of market flooding or no one buying, or both) and the problem comes back.
Food is already important to serious raiders; our latest attempt at T7 (and this will happen again on Monday) everyone made sure to have food, and myself and the other ALC in my raid made a bunch of X-Pots for the first set of adds. Sure, potions can have shorter cool-downs, or longer duration, but I am fine with them as they are now; Shark Oil is soooo expensive :(
If you can't make good money on CUL right now, you're doing it so so very wrong.
