Diabolos was everything I wanted but..

I wish I could get him as an EGI :( and wish he could of been a trial like the others. Otherwise his boss fight was one of my top 5 ~

Even if they won't add some of these summons as egis, the least they could do was add an ability to summoner that lets you summon them for one big attack. I'm sure they could come up with some random thing to make it fit into the lore.

I agree, I love summons and we should get another way to use them if they wont hand them over in egi form. Maybe they might in the first expansion who knows.

New EGI's come out with new expansions. Like they said, they are a new ability and there are no new class abilities because no new levels. And all the other classes need new abilities because SMN will get one or two more EGIs. They mentioned all this in one of the live letters...

They want to do this for FC.
Kill a primal and get a rare item that can summon the primal once. Have 1 week time to do it or the item get useless. Once a primal get summoned the weather in all zones change.

I would use it in PvP for the fun ^^

This is what I miss about SMN from XI. Yeah you very rarely used the extra summons, but it was fun as hell to accumulate them and use their special attacks. SMN should be able to do primal related LBs. Variety would be great.

Actually the Lore entirely shits on the idea of a summoner summoning a primal directly, or any hostile monster that can temper.

This is why I am excited for the expansion announcement and features, who knows what we will get :)

All I have to say about Summoner is that yes, it's performing completely different in XIV than any other game before, but if later on when expansions and more patch content starts coming in, and Egis are all that we consistently have, it's going to take a steaming dump on Summoner ever really getting more awe-inspiring as a Job. It's never going to be more than a DoT job with a pet, and we're never going to see updated and more easy on the eyes summons if when Shiva and Ramuh eventually come in and they have some awful looking Egi for themselves.

I'm staying on it as my main for the time because of the potential it can have in the future, if it never amounts to something DRG will be my main later on.
