I actually can't connect to my PS4 on a different network now. >.> Anyone know why?
In regards to the topic, on the same network it runs better than PS3 version IMO lol.
I use it a few times a day and love it. I wouldn't raid on it, but for leves, fates, crafting, and gathering it's fantastic. I ran a dungeon without issue, except my hands hurt by the end of it.
It might be your network setup on either the ps4 side or the one where your trying to connect. I am able to go so starbucks get on wifi and use my ps4 from my house on comcast cable internet. I do use router but instead of forwarding any ports I just let UPNP work. If for example that did not work such as for my sprint AIRAVE then of course I would forward the ports necessary. Hope that might help you out some.
Been doing simple solo things, like grinding Atma attempts, treasure hunting, and fishing. Last night I did a Bray and a CT to see what it was like. Only issue was I botched my LB timing on last boss of Bray cause my hand hit the rear pad, first time since first run I've had to kill the big bomb. No real connection issues though.
I just got my Vita working over internet (iphone 5 hotspot) a few days ago after weeks of configuring. In the end it was the "Connect Directly to PS4" option in the Vita settings of the PS4. Once i "unchecked" this box everything worked from that point on.
What i did do:
Set up a static IP address for my PS4
Configured my router for DMZ and input my PS4's static IP address.
Make sure UPnP is enabled in your router.
Opened the required ports as specified by the Playstation guide (found on official ps site)
Not sure if the ports are required as some other users reported it still working without it.
As far as how the experience was. Overall very impressed. I didnt have any problems with lag or stutering. The occasional blockyness did occur but i figured that was tolerable considering i was tethered to my iphone's LTE network. The main problems lie in the Touchpad as they removed the select button in favor of the share button. On the PS4 control the touchpad replaces it but you are still able to press the button down enabling select. On the Vita its the Touchscreen however there is no button press. This makes cycling throught the onscreen menus a real pain. Asside from that i was pleased to say the least.
the streaming itself is top notch , but the problem is the controls and lack of UI optimization , i only tried simple tasks as crafting and that already was a pain
I tried it and the connection was lost a couple of time in an hour. So for crafting, no big deal just reconnect but i would never try it for dungeons and battle stuff
I can relate to this. Also I think its a shame that the front screen makes no use of touch. It would be awesome to just tap and click on stuff on the HUD rather than using it to move a cursor but I guess it's not a priority. The fact that it works in the first place is amazing enough. Not for raids though... I tried lol
