Can archers wear bronze armor?

I got all this bronze armor but it looks like every class is red and I can't equip it. Am I doing something wrong or am I stuck with this stupid looking armor I have? Thanks.

Archer's cannot equip *metal type* armor's as those tend to be Tank only (sometimes Lancer's can use Metal type armor's but not as often, and it tends to be higher lvl stuff)

yeah i want metal armour always for my dragoon it feels squishy atm lolz, but busy farmin tomes for my books for my weapon atm so no time to play my squishy dragoon :(

Maybe there are some pieces in metal for archers.

For example Weathered Daystar Sollerets for healers are in metal :)

Chainmail type armour is about the heaviest armour ARCs and BRDs can wear normally - they have to be able to move around quickly and heavy plate would just be too restrictive. Plate armour is only for tanks: i.e GLA/PLD and MRD/WAR. LNCs and DRGs can wear scalemail type armour though which is heavier than chain, but nowhere near as strong as plate armour. But sadly as far as I'm aware ARCs and BRDs cannot wear it.

Each piece of armor lists near the top of the tooltip which classes and jobs can wear it. Some just say "All Classes", some specify a discipline like "Disciples of War", and some list individual classes and jobs, like "GLA MRD PLD WAR". Whichever it is, you have to meet those class requirements in order to wear that item. Most bronze armor is "GLA MRD PLD WAR", so only the tank classes can wear it. (Even if you cannot equip it with your current class, though, consider whether you're going to want it any time soon for other classes. Do you plan on leveling Gladiator or Marauder?)
