New UK PS4 Player looking for a server

Greetings!

I have a copy of the game waiting for me when I get home tonight.

I will be a UK based PS4 player. This game will be a large investment for what little time and money I have these days. 2 jobs and a daughter under the age of two!

I will be playing UK late evening and would like to get the most out of my investment. I will have keyboard communication so wont be a PlayStation mute.

Can anyone suggest the best possible home for me?

There are three new servers especially for the PS4 launch - Jenova (NA/EU), Zodiark (NA/EU) and Mana (JP). The great thing is the excitement over the game from new players, or veterans wanting a fresh atmosphere rolling new characters within them.

You can join more established servers too, as the guilds/Free Companies will have an established setup, and matured server economy and so on. You'll have to do research on which one to join though.

Check the community boards here for the new servers above for any guilds to join. I'm completely new to MMO's but the FC I'm with on Zodiark are really helpful, as are others most likely.

I am a UK PS4 user also, albeit I have migrated over from PS3, so am not on the new servers.
Like you, time is limited, probs max 2-3 nights during the week and then most of the time Sat/Sun :p

Whatever you choose, I am sure you will find friends in Eorzea! If you ever fancy rolling on Pheonix, then shout me up! We are a very small FC (but linked to several other small (4-8 peeps) FCs) who are relaxed and like to have fun :D

I play on Behemoth which is a US server but I am in the UK and like you I also have a small child!

I got invited into a free company who also have their own website and everyone has been really friendly so far!

I am Legacy Wolfwood and I'd like to extend a hand to you from Coeurl. It is a NA server but we do have other players playing on it just fine. If you do join Coeurl, I welcome you to the Free Company (guild) .:Sleeping Forest:. We are a very small FC but its mostly for casual players. Your late evenings may be the times when our players start to get on (not too sure about times xD) But I wish you the best of luck in finding a home and I hope that you love this game as much as I do :P

Well I must say good start from the community with nice responses and invitations!

I guess I need to decide whether or not I want a guaranteed new community and play catch and try fit in somewhere or join one of the new servers which statistically should have more new people looking for other new people.

I shall have to mull over the decision before I play this evening.

There are a lot of UK players on Sargatanas for some reason, so you would fit right in. It's a legacy server though with well established FC's that you could join. It's character restricted most of the time so you got to create a character at the right time on it. Just means it is a very populated server.

Thanks for all your replies. I have decided to roll on Zodiark.

I managed to get to lvl 9 last night and the server was pretty busy. I decided to go with Thaumaturge for my first main character. It translates very nicely to the PS4 controller.
