So, basically the Spriggans are..

first come first serve, in few locations and the fate's for them seem to be in higher level areas. Correct me if I am wrong, please. So far it seems like a shoddy way to hold and event and unfair to lower levels. To try and get that many eggs seems nearly impossible.

You would be correct. If you go around, you'll usually find a level 50 or 2 camping the spawn points. About an hour for the normal ones, up to over 5 hours for the ones that pop the fates. Apparently earlier events were too easily farmed.

Yeah. I think they just need to find their good middle ground where it's neither too easy, or too scarce. I already found the locations list. It looks like for now I will just do my next story quest in Gridania and look at the locations there while I am running around.

The main quests are only for high levels as well. Shame. I really wanted that costume.

The way this event is set up they almost have to be this rare. Look at the rewards you get out of the gold eggs, rare flowers available only from gardening used in 3 star crafting, 10k allagan coins... deviled eggs... okay maybe not the deviled eggs...

If people were able to farm the crap out of the eggs and open as many gold ones as they want the market would flood with the flowers and one of the higher tiers of gardening would be put to waste until all of the flowers in circulation dried up after the event.

Yeah... well maybe they shouldn't have included the bloody crafting ingredients in this if they didn't want to flood the market with them.

However, for those wanting to have an FFXI NM camping simulator- now you have it! Have fun! =D

The egg hunt is really nothing special that they would need to up the spawn rate. Everything you can get out of it can be gotten elsewhere (with varying degrees of difficulty). It's not like there's any special equipment or exclusive gear that comes only from it. It's an extra something for people with free time or an obsessive compulsive disorder to work on.

Rather than fixing the spawn rate they should work on the spawn conditions and locations though. I wanted to finish a set of silver eggs to try for another gold this evening and every other spot I checked had someone staring straight at the spawn point.

Can you not just wear the low level cap?

Personally I'm having a blast with it, but then, I liked NM camping too.

People aren't nearly as attentive as they were in FFXI either, I've just been running around the world stealing spriggans out from under spawn campers. If you keep moving you will eventually see some up! And if you find the FATE one it's cool, like a spriggan whack-a-mole. You can get dozens of eggs from one :D

Also yeah, you can wear the low level cap to do the main quests, just holler for a person with other cap to help.
