Ok so i was doing levequests with this rank 30 guy and i noticed that he was an archer but he was doing conjurer spells too, like heal, stoneskin, shell etc. Does that mean if i switch to a conjurer class and i level that a bit i will be able to equip conjurer abilities on my ability bar even if i'm an archer? also i noticed hat every time he switched classes his outfits would change. can you have different outfits for different classes? If these are all true how do i do them?
Yes, if you rank up conjurer you can equip abilities from con on other classes you play. Not every ability, but most of them.
As for changing classes and changing gear at the same time, he probably used a macro. You can find the macro menu inside the config menu, and there is a walkthrough on lodestone: Text Commands & Macros
As Ferth said, you can use many - but not all - abilities across classes. For instance, I use Protect, Shell, Shock Spikes, Cure, and Roaming Soul from CON when I play on my THM. I also use Defender from MRD, Featherfoot and Second Wind from PGL, and Rampart from GLA when I solo NMs on my THM.
The tradeoff is that the abilities from the 'other' class are not as powerful on your current class, ie. cooldown time might be longer, effective duration may be shorter, etc. (You can use guild marks to buy traits to improve the cross-class effectiveness.) It is an interesting - and often powerful - part of the game's design. Like the Crane Technique, if used properly, no defense.
