Suggested Change: Crafting Material Bank

Basically, I'd love to have what Guild Wars 2 has currently by way of the "Collectables" banking system. Essentially, crafting materials take a pre-defined slot broken up by categories. You can move any crafting material from your inventory into your "Collectables" by right-clicking it and saying "Send to Collectables" (or something like that).

Maybe make it a craftable item and have it sit in FC housing, and personal housing if that ever happens. For value adds, you could then make it filterable/searchable and sortable. Not sure whether they'd want to go so far as to

This would leave Retainers for sellable goods and weapons/gear, and it would help people who like to craft from filling their entire inventory/retainers/bank with random crafting materials because they might need them some day (like say, me)

Sounds like you just need to manage crafting materials a little more to know what you will/won't need in the future. Sure you can keep everything because you might use it, but if it is easily farmable or sells for only 10 gil a piece, then there is no point hanging on to it and using up space if you only MIGHT use it in 2 months once. I never have issue with space and I craft a lot.

I agree with the OP. Now that certain materials are only available through GC (plus venture coin) I try to turn in all 11 provisioning items (for each DoH and DoL) each day. The materials you need to make those items alone might be close to filling your inventory. Am I supposed to run back and forth from GC to MB and retainer 11 times?

-I'm also doing DF once a day, and working on progression so I need some consumables, and I'm leveling a second class, which might require additional consumable.
-I'm crafting the 50 items for the new main hands... which require of bunch of mats, food, and I won't neccessarily be able to make all 50 in one session - I'm only doing one at a time mostly for inventory reasons.
-I'm trying gathering the items for the new DoL gear.

It would be more fun and efficient if I could switch from one task to the next without trips to MB and retainer everytime I want to do something different.

My inventory is usually 80+ slots filled. One retainer is usually full, the other is half full. MANY materials are NOT cheap and I will need them soon (i.e. the materials to make the items required for each craft mastercraft book, as well as the 50 to make the MH)

It will surely help but I doubt that we'll ever see it.

That's precisely why I think it won't be implemented.

The whole idea behind the retainer system (and having multiple retainers instead of one) is so you don't view all your items every time you open your inventory. that way it will cause less stress and faster results instead of fetching much more items much more frequently.

And seeing how the new retainers became a paid service which means they don't want any more stress to their servers, then a bank system is out of the question or atleast that's what I think.

a pity, it"s actually a good idea.
