RMT, blist, and possible permanent solution

Obviously all of us (well, maybe 99% of us - the other 1% are off comparing prices) are sick and tired of getting spammed by RMT tells and shouts.

Like many of you, I've filled my Blist long ago and have to delete the top names 10 at a time daily to add more RMT to the list. Then some of the deleted RMT start sending me tells all over again.

Please please please drastically raise - or even better, remove - the limit of entries allowed on the Blist. Sadly 200 just doesn't cut it.

I was wondering if there may be a possible permanent solution to the solution. I don't mean screen-shotting the RMT activity one at a time and sending it in to Square Enix. There'd be no time left to play! I'm thinking something... bigger.

Would it be possible for players to file a legal harassment suit against the companies that employ such RMT, to have them permanently banned from advertising in game?

I honestly just ignore it. If i see a wall of pink spammed on my chat i just go about my business.

I wonder if the blist file is stored locally.

I've turned my RMT blist into a routine now...

1. /blist add "<r>"
2. /support
3. wait for the list to load... click first item on FAQ
4. fill form...
5. /support again when they do a copy-paste reply to get rid of the blinking message

Usually, I can complete this under a minute, before a duty finder timer is up.

Then the next day I just remove everyone on my blist and start all over again.

Ideally, there should be a macro to make steps 2~4 completed within a split second, rather than a whole minute.

I understand how to quickly Blist people - I'm wanting a more permanent solution. Thanks though.

I was telling you my routine, Do you also report them to the GM? Because when I've started doing that, they (as in the ones you've blisted and removed later) usually don't appear up again the next day (24 hours).

It's truly too bad this game doesn't have a fiction that allows you to block an account entirely. Many of the MMOs I've played in the past (mostly those with global ID handles) had something like this available. Now, I'm not saying this will address all the RMT problems, but it will limit the amount of tells a player will receive until the account is banned. Most RMT have access to multiple accounts but multiple characters on each. Spam. Switch. Spam. Switch.

So, no one has any idea of how to take legal action against the RMT companies that spam us?

I agree; even if the account name or information is never directly shown to the player, it would still be great to have the ability to block entire accounts.
