ok so im level 17/18 and i want to become a thaumaturge i know its in the ul'duh and i just unlocked the airship what and how do i become a thaumaturge now or get to ul'duh im so confused.

you have to go to the guild and there will be a quest there to complete they will give you a weapon you then equip it and you change to Thaumaturge

im not sure how to get to that guild??? that the problem.

Also, make sure you do the level 10 class quest on your first class to unlock the Armoury System. Without it, you can't switch jobs. But yeah, head to the THM guild in UD (use your map if you're lost), they give you an old weapon you equip to switch to THM.

i understand this but how do i get to ud i havnt unlocked it yet....

The main story quest should lead you straight to Uldah. Just keep doing it, and you will wind up in Uldah.

If you have the airship unlocked, take the airship to Ul'Dah. Go to the lift attendant in Limsa Lominsa (either in the adventurer's guild or in Bulwark Hall, east of the main aetheryte) and talk to them for a ride to the airship landing. Buy a ticket to Ul'Dah. While you're there, attune to the aetheryte so you can teleport back anytime.

Still a long ways to become a summoner as you need Arcanist (ACN) to level 30 and Thaumaturge (THM) to level 15. Though you would want THM to level 26 for Swiftcast cross class skill as it makes all Disciple of Magic's job easier.

My advice, enjoy the story and enjoy the world around you, you'll get there in due time. :)
