Hi,
I was just wondering what would be good mats to level up on with botanist. I got to level 20 and was trying to figure out what would be the most useful mats to get towards 50. There are so many options it feels confusing on what is something that i should get and what i should ignore.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I do plan on getting to 50.

I did BTN and CRP together. So I would chop logs and then turn them into lumber. Also fieldcraft leves were helpful as well...
It depends on what your goal is.
If you just want to level, do leves.
If you want to get stuff you can sell, then check your server market board for what is selling well. The low level logs and cotton can be bought from vendors, so they won't sell well, but high level logs are always in demand. Seeds will probably sell well since they are new. Everything else is used in some crafting recipe somewhere but it really depends on people are making. When you get to higher levels, go after Rolanberries.
Doing leves are good for leveling (try to do them whenever they reward you with a hefty sum of elemental shards). Price might vary according to the world server you're in, for mine it's the seedling/pearl ginger/button mushroom/flax item are some of the mid level items good for selling. the last one (flax) requires level 31 to start gather.
Yea. For pure levels the levequests are the way to go.
If you want to have what your getting be useful I agree with Amnesia in that work on a disciple of the hand as well. For botanist I'd suggest the carpenter and the weaver. Both have lots of items that you can get from the botanist's gathering.
If you want gill. Check the markets.

HQ walnut logs (level 25 node I believe) sell well. There's a Carpenter leve that asks for 5 of them, and since you get double the xp for HQ synths, people leveling CRP's are always buying the HQ logs.
HQ stuff in general sells for more, and npc's dont sell them. So crafters are always buying HQ mats for levequests. HQ items also give more xp, so use your Leaf Turn/Leaf Turn 2 for max profit/xp.
Some things I usually work on gathering (I am only currently up to Level 37 however):
- Gridanian Walnut (used in making Walnut Breads)
- Walnut Logs (used in carpentry)
- Oak Logs (carpentry)
- Midland Basil (used for making Knight's Breads)
- Midland Cabbage (used for making Buttons in a Blanket, and Stuffed Cabbages)
- Button Mushrooms (used for making Buttons in a Blanket)
- Pearl Ginger (used for making Mulled Tea)
- Millioncorn (this used to sell well, back when triple crafting leves were popular, since they were an ingredient for Cornmeal. Since the nerf to triple crafting leves, nobody has bothered with Cornmeals, and so the price of this item has dropped)
- Desert Saffron (used for making Buttons in a Blanket)
- Flax (used to make Linen Yarns)
Lots of stuff you can gather to sell, just gotta look up the marketboard for items you can gather in your level range, and see which sells well. It especially helps if you know what each item would be mostly used for. For example, stuff like Dragon Pepper wouldn't sell that well, even if they give you more EXP per swing, just because people don't use them in general.
