Tank healing question
Is there anyway, as a tank, that I can see a cure coming my way while the healer is casting? I don't see it on my status bar but maybe I just keep missing it. Most of the time I run with friends on VC so it's never really mattered but last night I pugged Garuda (story) and usually I'll give my healer a break when I see another party member take a bad hit by going through my IB rotation. But me and the healer just kept being in sync on that resulting in unnecessary heals on me that could have been better used elsewhere. I hate inefficiency lol.

There are lines that show going toward you from any PC or NPC taking any action (with a cast time? Not sure if instant actions show) on you or another party member. Heals will show as blue lines coming from the healer to whoever they're casting on. I believe there's an option to turn this off, but it's on by default.
There's also the healer's cast bar in the party frames that shows what they're casting, though not who they're casting on. So if you can catch both of those, you can maybe catch when it's happening.
Realistically, though, just get used to overheals. By the time you can catch what's happening, if you can, the window to make a decision has probably passed.

You Will be walking a dangerous line if you start giving healers trouble about over healing lol.
I know I would just choose to not heal you at all if something like that was said to me.
Unless the healer iss always oom it isn't really a concern.

Lol. No, no. I didn't say anything to the healer. To the contrary, I was looking for a way to take some pressure off the healer. I would never tell a healer not to heal me.

If you have sound enabled, when healer starts casting something on you - there will be a sound signal. This way good tanks will know to stop and wait for stoneskin/adloquium to finish casting before making a pull. But i think 99% of tanks play without sound turned on.
Also, WHM should use Regen and SCH should use Fairy on garuda, but not direct heal.
