I wish they would remove the goddamned root from Holmgang.
It would be nice. The only time I think I am really really wanted it to be off GCD is on Twintania.
Well with Twin you pretty much know when Death Sentence is coming and can stop attacking before it arrives so your Inner Beast isn't on GCD when she's casting it.
What's aggravating with Twin is that she has 2 mechanics which are obviously designed for a PLD who can move while in Hallowed Ground: (1) Twister less than 6 seconds after Death Sentence and (2) Death Sentence less than 6 seconds after Liquid Hells (if they land on the MT). (1) is a guaranteed death for the MT if it's WAR, because you'll be rooted from Holmgang and can't move to avoid the Twister's oneshot. (2) is not guaranteed death for the MT if it's WAR as long as your healers are spamming you to top you off and you have a couple CDs to burn but it's pretty insane being rooted in Liquid Hells eating a ton of damage and seeing the Death Sentence bar appear. A PLD can move all he wants when he uses Hallowed Ground, they need to remove the goddamn root from Holmgang.
Well for Twin the annoying part is keeping up storm path and being ready for inner focus. It's also annoying to actually have to stop doing things and wait after the 3rd body slam. It's manageable once you get the rhythm down, but it's still sucks. If it wasn't on GCD life would be a lot better for War--not that they have it bad right now or anything.
I also agree that the root on Holmgang needs to go. There is no reason for it.
Unchained is already off the GCD.
Steel Cyclone would be more ridiculous than it already is.
Inner Beast would need some changes but it could work.
My suggestion for Inner Beast:
Can be use off GCD but it will trigger GCD after use. (Note that only Inner beast will trigger the GCD)
What would this mean: You can use it at any time, but when you do, it will trigger GCD so u can't use Inner Beast than use a BB/SP/SE w/o waiting GCD (~2.5 sec)
This change will still add a dps boost to warriors, as they can use a 300 potency skill off GCD but at least they will have to wait 2.5 sec after using this off GCD skill.
I suggested Inner Beast off GCD a while back and the general consensus was it would be OP. I think the GCD is balancing factor. Besides, they dont interrupt combo's anyway.
to make IB off GCD would have to greatly reduce its DMG, and I would much rather have the dmg when burst is needed then the more ease of use, which is already very easy. If you tank Twin enough you will know when the next DS is coming and can easily time the 6sec buff to cover the cast time and hit from twin.
