Why do you want people to stop paying for you game?

ATMA is the least rewarding system you could have designed.

You opened up what looks to be a significant portion of our character's advancement and then handcuffed it to a system solely based on RNG with no Maximum investment required to complete.

Some of the population is going to think ATMA farming wasn't that bad because they got their drops very quickly. They are still going to think the system was uninspired and added nothing positive to their experience.

Some of the population is going to think ATMA farming was pretty bad but overall they put in enough effort and go a couple a day and so they can put this pile of garbage behind them.

And then some people will do many times more FATES than first two groups of people and get fed up that you intentionally made fickle system that rewarded random chance and has no guaranteed end, regardless of how much effort and time they put in.



You will lose players if you make us do this again. You have legitimately burned confidence in yourself and your game with this system. The only thing you had to do was give us an end that we could be sure of and we would have ground out the maximum required 50 or even 100 FATES in each zone. We would have complained significantly less. Add a guaranteed end to your upgrade systems. You will retain your fan base and their confidence in your ability to create enjoyable content that is worth them paying you a monthly fee and they will happily continue to do so.


I can't keep badmouthing other MMOs and games to my friends in an attempt to attract them to your game if you make it so that I'm bad mouthing your game.

This is Square's attempt to give hardcore players something to do.

They've made it clear that they are designing the game so that the more dedicated players will get the rare gear first, and then they'll gradually reduce the effort required to get the said piece of gear.

With that said I do agree that this is a really bad system, because it's not so much about effort then it is about luck. One guy can do like 3 fates and get the drop, and the other guy can do 50 in the same area with nothing to show for it. The end result is the players who do have the weapon will just be known as lucky, rather than skilled or dedicated, simply because of the means to obtain it. How you acquire gear is just as important as how rare it is. So again, I agree. This is pretty stupid.

As someone else said, we pay to play not to waste time =/.

It's one optional quest which will more than likely have its drop rates adjusted in the next major patch.

My problem with this is the fact some of us indeed want Atma weapons and we farm endlessly with no results. It is hard to log on to a game which you enjoy just to grind your ass off only to be disappointed day after day. I've been in one zone for 5 days. I've gotten a total of three atmas since patch release and people are already finished with animus it's demoralizing I can see how this makes people want to quit.

people shouldn't quit the game, they should just quit the quest until the thing they don't like is changed. if you don't like something, don't do it! simple. you don't HAVE to do the atma quest, there will be other weapons, promise.

While I don't like the system (only have 3 so far), it has given me something to do when waiting for DR to pop or my fc to do coil. I know there are plenty of other things I can work on, just trying to look at it positively. It does suck that have completed the FATE challenges while farming them and didn't switch to a lower lvl character to get the exp though.

The issue there is you're conditioning people to avoid new content until another set of new content comes along with a nerf to the old content. That's not the way things should be done. No one should hit a roadblock from RNG and avoid it until a future patch makes it easier, otherwise everyone may as well be playing everything one patch behind.
