insufficient GHz question

I just got a new computer that I'd like to play the game on but I only have 1.6 GHz whereas everything I've read says you need at least two. I've managed to install and play the game but the load times and lag between attacks/actions etc are kind of ridiculous and I'm assuming that's down to my low GHz, but was wondering if i upgraded my RAM (4GB now, can take it up to 8) and/or my video card (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series) if they alone could take me where i need to be or if I'm just kindo of out of luck with the slow processor. I know, I know, I should have looked at this stuff before i bought the computer but I wasn't really planning on using it for gaming but someone got me the game so now here I am. Any help would be much appreciated!

Getting a better GPU will most likely raise your fps a bit. But the GPU always needs a potent CPU filling it with information :P
Getting more RAM won't change anything. The game can't get past ~1.8GB usage.
What also helps (especially in towns) is a fast HDD.

*notes taken* Good info! I never considered the fact about your HDD read/write speed would affect you the most in towns! but it makes perfect sense!

I have AMD 2Ghz Dual Core as well and notice the game hovers at about 80% on both cores! any process that runs in windows in the background that even starts to run, can cause a hiccup in FPS. It's only momentary. If your looking to upgrade your CPU I would at least push a little further past 2Ghz.

I'm looking at this as well, but unfortunately my Motherboard is old enough now that I'm looking at a full overhaul to get a decent CPU in my system :P Ah the price we pay to play PC games!

So it sounds like my best bet would be to go after a new video card then? Idk how much money I really wanna spend just to play a game however, especially since i bought this computer less than a week ago. I just shoulda got myself a gaming computer <facepalm>

A Mobility HD4200 can hardly be considered a gaming GPU. It's the lowest of lowend <.<
And most likely you won't be able to upgrade it since its integrated into the mainboard.

Ah oh well; I didn't buy the computer for gaming anyways, though I should know myself well enough to realize I'd end up playing them. Well anyways thanks for the help, I'll probably just end up skipping out on this one after its no longer free to play, unless I find some way to make it run better.
