If thats true, it does not look too good. People are already complaining about paying extra for retainers. I don't think people will be happy paying twice for a game they have been playing for a while already.

You already need to buy the PS3 version again, if you upgrade to PS4. Yoshida didn't want it that way, but the Japanese anti-trust laws gave SE no choice. And he wanted to keep it equal for everyone, so everyone who upgrades has to buy the PS3 version again, if they still want to play on PS3, not just the Japanese.

PS5, april fools, though.

April Fools joke aside, I love that people actually complain about needing to buy the game again when they switch to a new system.

It would be like moving and trying to buy a house but getting angry that they're making you pay for it because "But I already bought a house where I used to live! Give me this new one for free!"

I mean I can understand wanting a free digital download, but people think they should get actual physical merchandise for free as well.

If you have the PS3 version you can get it upgraded to PS4 version for free...
Even that was something that SE had to work with Sony to be able to offer...

If you want to play on PC+PS4, you need to own PC version and PS3 or PS4 version...
If you want to play on PC+PS3+PS4 you need to own all three versions, as the PS3 to PS4 upgrade makes it so that you can't play the old copy on PS3 any more.

If you have the PS4 version, I can't think of a reason anyone would want to play the PS3 version anymore.

Yep, and in those cases, they'd have multiple accounts, and therefore multiple copies of the game anyway.

Multi-user, multi-television households.

I can think of a reason not to play the PS4 version. Not having a PS4. One game is not enough to make me go out and buy a $400 game console when I have a console that plays said game just as well. No, there has got to be alot more game on the PS4 that I can get giddy about before I even bother with it.
