Turn 6 - Blighted Bouquet

Hi,

Just want to ask a quick question.

During Blighted Bouquet is it safe to auto-attack?

Also, how is everyone repositioning Rafflesia for each Bulb spawn in Phase 2? A few times during my attempts last night, the Briar patch disappeared just as a DPS was about to go in, meaning they got vacuumed and devoured.

Had mixed reports of it being safe to auto attack during Bouquet. Sometimes, we had tanks and melee dying to it while auto attacking and other times not. I highly suggest just mashing ESC or spamming a sheathe weapon macro just to be safe.

There's always one Devour during the Hornets phase that will line up with an old set of briar despawning. To be safe, ALWAYS have your devour target run to the newest set of Briar's that have spawned (aka the smallest ones) if you're using this strategy for devour.

You have to not be moving/doing anything at the end of the cast. Auto attacks definitely count.

Auto attacks count. Tank was auto-attacking a gnat by accident (thought he had Raff targeted) and got waxed. Just hit ESC as soon as you see it or turn from your target. You have until pretty late in the cast to stop everything; just keep the Raff focus targeted.

Auto attacks count. All weapon skills and abilities count. Accepting a rez counts. Unsure about jumping, but you should probably not do this either.

Very important: Just because you did something and survived, it doesn't mean that it's safe to do so.

I have gone balls out pounding on Rafflesia throughout the entire cast and survived.

Think of it like Twister in Twintania. If you fail to move, you will sometimes survive but this doesn't mean it's safe to stand still during Twisters.

Does someone experience lag on this mechanic? Two players of our static randomly get instagibbed sometimes although they're doing nothing during the complete cast. Aborting actions in time works really fine but stopping movement it seems sometimes the server doesn't recognize it 100% which is very annoying.

On a side note, there was once WHM down and I was casting Ballad and Blight came up just as I cast, and I didn't die despite the while Ballad animation went through lol. Of course it isn't safe to do so :p

I'm 95% certain auto attacks count. I was getting randomly gibbed while tanking our first few attempts but still having the boss targeted for auto attacks. Once I started hitting escape on cast bar to remove target, I haven't died to the effect once.

I think the confusion is that it only kills you if you auto attack AS the cast ends. So there's a lesser chance of the timing lining up and you dying from auto-attacking, but there's still a chance. Just hit escape!

Got him down to 10% last night. Unfortunately, one of my static members will not be available until Sunday, so hopefully we'll down it then!
