Unable to complete version check [30605][20448][10009][10019]

When it checks the launcher version, it just shows this message and then shuts down. Any clue on how to fix this?

This has been a known problem since the game first launched.

Download this file and replace the content in your FFXIV/boot folder. That usually does it for people

yeah, neither of those two things worked for me.
