Just another ATMA thread
So, I'm not here to cry and moan about how grueling the Atma quest has been. However, I do want to ask about it, because surely I must be doing it wrong.
My first two atma's, central and eastern Thanalan, did not take TOO long to get. About 2 hours each. However, I'm on my third now, and I've been at it since friday.
Western Thanalan, I've done over 100 fates and have been here for 3 days for a total of 9ish hours played. I am getting discouraged from continuing the quest at this point.
It's not fun as a WHM. I dismount, sync, cleric stance and then spam aero 1. So I ask, is there a trick to it? What am I doing wrong? Because I really hope the RNG is not this bad.

lol its just luck based im on my 3rd one as well got my 1st two fairly quickly as well but started on 3rd one since yesterday and im still at it today

The rng is that bad and the drop rate is that low. Sometimes you just get lucky and don't have to suffer too much.

It's just bad luck. That's why we're all complaining, essentially (as much as some like to insist we just don't want to spend time). Instead of being rewarded for time played, or time put into the quest, you're being rewarded that something you had no real control over happened to land in the correct spot. Luckily, the second part of the quest, once you get all those Atmas, takes the RNG factor out but keeps the time. Sucks till you get there though.
Hope your luck shifts.

There should some sort of fail safe. If you don't get it within 100 fates, it's automatically given or something.

Have any of you ever played Vindictus?
I've played it for years and I can honestly say that I have seen some shit .
So the whole RNG based luck drop has dulled my senses. Maybe that's why I don't really mind the RNG grind :o
